On August 27th, according to sources from Giao Thong Newspaper, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province issued a document requesting a halt to the signing of contract package No. 27 for Ca Mau General Hospital until the competent authority issues a document resolving the request in accordance with regulations.

Previously, Thuan Phu Co., Ltd. (Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province) and General Corporation 36 - JSC (Dong Da district, Hanoi) both submitted petitions requesting a review of the contractor selection results for package number 27, arguing that the bidding process lacked objectivity, transparency, and compliance with the law.
Package No. 27, which includes the construction of the main building, pile load testing, and water supply and drainage, is one of the main packages of the project. This package is valued at over 822 billion VND and was tendered online from April 6, 2024, with the closing date being May 22, 2024.
The Ca Mau Provincial General Hospital project will be built on an area of 12.15 hectares in Ward 6, Ca Mau City, with an implementation period from 2020 to 2025.
The project has a total investment of over 3,300 billion VND, including: construction costs of over 1,400 billion VND; electromechanical and technological equipment costs of over 500 billion VND; medical equipment costs of over 854 billion VND…
Currently, the project has only completed a portion of the site leveling, pile driving, concrete pouring, and internal road network construction.
In 2024, the province allocated over 397 billion VND, of which over 208 billion VND came from the province's lottery revenue, and the remaining over 188 billion VND came from the central government budget.
As of July 31st, the investor had disbursed 51.6 billion VND, reaching nearly 12.9%, while awaiting the Advisory Council's resolution of the bidding recommendations.
According to the Ca Mau Provincial Construction Project Management Board, the project is delayed due to issues with the bidding and evaluation process, as well as difficulties in land clearance for 183 square meters, because residents have not yet allowed the contractor to dismantle structures for leveling and compaction.
