(NLDO) - Vietnam drops 5 ranks, placing it among the countries with the lowest English proficiency levels in the world.
On the morning of November 13th, Education First (EF) announced the 2024 Global English Proficiency Index (EPI) ranking after analyzing the test results of 2.1 million people who are not proficient in English across 116 countries and territories. Those who took the test this year were 18 years old or older and came from 116 countries and territories around the world. The average age of this global survey sample was 26 years old.
In 2024, Vietnam ranked 63rd out of 116 countries with 498 points, placing it in the group with low English proficiency levels. This result represents a drop of 5 places compared to 2023. Vietnam's best ranking was in 2019, when it placed 52nd.
