The event, organized by the Korea University Invention Association (KUIA), under the official sponsorship of the National Assembly of Korea, gathered more than 1,000 students from nearly 30 countries and territories, becoming one of the prestigious international forums for high school students passionate about scientific research and technical invention.
WICO is aimed at middle and high school students, with the competition format in groups of 2-5 members. The purpose of the competition is to create opportunities for students, university students, and young investors to discuss and introduce their country's advances in science, technology, and engineering. The inventions and innovations brought to the competition are all creative, practical, and highly applicable.

This year, Vietnam participated with a record number of 70 teams from many provinces and cities across the country. The topics all demonstrated the creativity, applicability and sense of responsibility to the community of the young generation of Vietnam.
Among the 70 teams representing Vietnam, many groups have achieved outstanding results. In particular, outstanding student groups have been honored with important awards, demonstrating outstanding abilities in creative thinking, scientific research and international integration.
Specifically, the gold prizes were awarded to the following groups: NCKH06 including Nguyen Le Dieu Thu, Le Nhat Hien, Vu Quang Hai and Nguyen Hoang Chi Bach; NCKH08 including Nguyen Chan Nam, Le Nam Khanh, Bui Minh Duc, Le Minh Tuan and Dang Chi Hieu; NCKH09 including Chau Hong Nhat Linh, Tran Gia Minh Tam and Chu Hoang Chau Anh; NCKH12 including Nguyen The Song Ha, Ngo Tri Dung, Pham Duc Anh, Hoang Tung Thu and Quach Duy Dat; NCKH13 including Doan Tran Anh Nghi, Nguyen Vu Truc Khue and Vu Khanh Linh; and NCKH16 including Vu Anh Duc, Bui Quang Minh and Vu Duc Minh.
Silver prizes were awarded to groups: NCKH05 with members Thieu Phuong Linh, Pham Dinh Bao Phuc, Phung Uyen Phuong and Pham Minh Hung; NCKH14 including Hoang Minh Anh, Nguyen Hung Lan and Pham Vu Minh; and group NCKH15 including Le Lam Nguyen, Ngoc Linh and Pham Minh Thu.
Notably, the NCKH06 group not only won the gold prize but also received a special prize from the Expert Council thanks to the breakthrough and high practical applicability of the research topic.
The Vietnamese teams have been carefully selected and trained domestically. The achievements at WICO 2025 are not only a source of pride but also open up international cooperation opportunities for Vietnamese students in the journey of sustainable science and technology development in the future.
