Due to the impact of Typhoon Matmo, Vietnam Airlines anticipates adjusting its flight schedule for October 5th.
Specifically, flights VN1186 and VN1188 on the Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong route; and VN1187 on the Hai Phong - Ho Chi Minh City route have new departure times of 16:00, 17:35, and 18:35 respectively.
Flights VN592 and VN593, traveling between Hanoi and Hong Kong (China), will depart at 12:15 PM and 4:15 PM (local time), respectively.
Flights operated by Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vasco) on October 6th are expected to operate normally.
Depending on the actual weather conditions, the airline will proactively adjust flight schedules and inform passengers accordingly to ensure the absolute safety of passengers and flights.
Vietnam Airlines also advises passengers to fasten their seatbelts throughout the flight, especially in turbulent weather conditions. Proactively fastening your seatbelt, even when the seatbelt sign is off, is an important measure to minimize risks when the aircraft encounters turbulence.
The airline also advised passengers planning to fly on October 6th to proactively monitor traffic conditions in the area around the airport, especially in cities affected by the storm, in order to arrange their travel time appropriately and arrive at the airport on time for check-in.

According to information from the Civil Defense Command of the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority is implementing a directive on responding to Typhoon Matmo, which assesses that Cat Bi and Van Don airports will be directly affected by this typhoon.
In addition, Noi Bai, Vinh, and Tho Xuan airports are required to be prepared to respond if the storm takes an unexpected turn.
Given the complex developments of Typhoon No. 11, the Aviation Weather Warning Center will continuously update the situation and forecast wind speeds at airports to promptly manage flight operations.
Airlines are required to proactively adjust flight schedules to ensure safe operations. The Northern Aviation Authority is strengthening inspection and supervision of storm response efforts at airports.
Earlier, the Ministry of Construction sent a dispatch to specialized departments, affiliated units, and Departments of Construction from Quang Ninh to Lam Dong, requesting them to concentrate forces to prepare for Typhoon Matmo.
The Civil Aviation Authority, along with airlines and aviation service businesses, are tasked with closely monitoring weather developments and being ready to change flight plans to ensure absolute safety.
At the same time, inspections of airport infrastructure, terminals, communication systems, and air traffic control systems were intensified to promptly address any incidents that might arise during the storm.
