Vietnam Airlines ' "orange bowl" flights offer passengers a unique experience with a meaningful message about gender equality and respect for women and children.
Unlike the usual blue uniforms, on flight VN253 departing from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City on November 18th, both ground staff and flight crew wore orange uniforms with matching ribbons and flowers, conveying the message "Respect for women and children".

In recent years, Vietnam Airlines has participated in many activities aimed at building an equal society.
On the flight, all passengers also received meaningful gifts such as an orange T-shirt with the Vietnam Airlines logo, special gifts, and cups of bubble tea.
A representative from Vietnam Airlines stated that through this activity, the airline aims to spread the message about protecting women and children and promoting gender equality in society to its passengers.
This is an "orange-colored" flight – the color chosen by the United Nations as the symbolic color for the global campaign to eliminate violence against women and girls – carrying a meaningful message about gender equality. The flight was carried out by Vietnam Airlines in coordination with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).
The flight also supports the 2024 National Action Month for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence.
The event was infused with the color orange, in conjunction with UN Women's "Paint the World Orange" campaign – a united effort to end gender-based violence, taking place over 16 days, from November 25th to December 10th, globally.
Foreign visitors excitedly checked in with the gifts from the event.
Following the flight, Vietnam Airlines continued its collaboration with UN Women and Ho Chi Minh City to donate meaningful gifts such as blankets and teddy bears to women and children at the city's temporary shelter center. On November 19th, representatives from the airline will participate in the "Ceremony to respond to the National Action Month for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in 2024" in Nha Be District.
2024 marks the third consecutive year that Vietnam Airlines has launched the "Orange Bowl" flight to support the National Action Month on Gender Equality and the Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence.
Previously, in 2022 and 2023, Vietnam Airlines' "Orange Bowl" flight operation made a significant contribution to creating positive impacts in promoting gender equality.
In addition to the "orange coloring" campaign, on October 1st, the airline also collaborated with UN Women to "pink color" the flight in support of the HeForshe campaign with the message "For the women around us".
Representatives from Vietnam Airlines presented gifts at the temporary shelter.
This is a practical activity by Vietnam Airlines aimed at raising awareness in the community and working towards genuine gender equality, promoting the development of women.
The company has also signed a cooperation agreement with UN Women for the period 2024-2026 to implement communication programs to raise community awareness about gender equality, aiming to build an equal and sustainable work environment where all employees, regardless of gender, are given the opportunity to develop and contribute.
Representatives from Vietnam Airlines expressed their hope that these meaningful activities would continue the journey of creating positive values, contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity and joint action to end violence against women, children, and vulnerable groups in society. They also affirmed the commitment of Vietnam's national airline to fulfilling its social responsibility.
