Mr. Phan Van Giau, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long, said that the province currently has 127 tourist accommodation establishments (61 hotels, 40 motels, 26 homestays) and 16 travel agencies (12 domestic, 4 international). In particular, homestay tourist attractions both serve guests and combine for tourists to visit fruit gardens, ornamental gardens; 8 tourist areas, 3 households making green rice - coconut candy, raising honey, selling handicrafts. In addition, Vinh Long also has typical historical and cultural relics and architectural works such as: Memorial area of ​​Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung; Memorial area of ​​Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet...

Most of the tourism service business units in the province can participate in applying information technology (IT) in promoting tourism, exchanging information with state management agencies, promoting and selling goods and products through sites such as Tripadvisor, Booking, Agoda, Zalo, Facebook, YouTube... contributing to promoting their potential to be closer to domestic and foreign tourists.

After experiencing the tourist spot at Minh Islet (Long Ho District, Vinh Long), Mr. Bui Ngoc Diep (43 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City) happily said: "I learned about this coconut house spot through the Vinh Long tourism information portal. Therefore, on the weekend, I brought my family here to visit, rest and relax."

To support tourism and service businesses, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Project on applying IT in the tourism sector for the period 2021-2025. From this project, the tourism industry supports tourism businesses in applying IT in promoting and advertising their activities and products through applications, fanpages, information portals, etc.

"Currently, the province's tourism information portal regularly updates promotional images, service prices, promotional packages, information on accommodation, cuisine , sightseeing spots, shopping, travel... to serve tourists' information needs. Vinh Long tourism information portal currently has over 4.25 million visits. Regarding the Vinh Long Tourism Promotion Information Center's Facebook page, it regularly posts information and images about Vinh Long tourism activities, as well as activities of tourism businesses, thereby contributing to promoting businesses," Mr. Giau added.

Vinh Long tourism industry regularly organizes culinary competitions to promote the image of the province.

In addition, through meetings, seminars, conferences... The Department also launched and called on businesses to attract tourists to open pages, social networks such as Facebook, Youtube, TikTok... This is a free but quite effective form of promotion, introducing the typical products of the establishment, beautiful images of the locality.

In order to monitor tourism establishments in compliance with regulations, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long assigned the Tourism Promotion Information Center to closely check the content and related documents before posting business promotions. In terms of state management, the Inspectorate of this Department will check information and promotional services to promptly report, advise, and propose to leaders to give opinions to businesses to promptly make adjustments if errors or violations are detected in promotional activities on digital space.

Regarding the solution to connect small and medium-sized tourism businesses and activities in the province to form a value chain of unique tourism products, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long has actively organized events, conferences and seminars such as: Vinh Long Tourism Festival 2022, Investment Promotion Conference with Ho Chi Minh City... In which, always focusing on the content of digital transformation in tourism, creating links between tourism establishments and businesses to develop sustainably together. In the near future, the Department will organize a scientific seminar on product development and connecting tours and tourism routes between Vinh Long and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City and other localities nationwide.
