Ms. Nguyen Thi Nam reported on the teaching situation at school on October 21, with nearly 99% of the students returning to school. Out of the 1,518 students in the school, more than 1,400 students registered for boarding meals.

According to Ms. Nam, to meet the wishes of parents who cannot arrange time to pick up and drop off their children at noon, the school has organized its own cooking to serve boarding activities from today (October 21) until the new winning bidder's time.

“Food will be imported from a food supplier that has been assessed by the People's Committee of Binh Minh commune and meets food hygiene and safety conditions,” according to the school's announcement.

The process of the school organizing self-cooking for students will be supervised by parents, the school's monitoring team, medical staff and representatives of the Department of Culture and Society of Binh Minh commune.

Also according to Cu Khe Primary School, after terminating the contract with the full-package meal provider, Nhat Anh Trading and Service Company Limited, the kitchen facilities were renovated and kitchen utensils were replaced with new ones to ensure food hygiene and safety.

It is known that in the notice sent to parents about the school organizing its own meals, the school also stated the reason as; "so that the students' boarding activities are not interrupted and parents can work with peace of mind" while waiting for the completion of legal procedures for the new meal provider.

As Tien Phong reported, on October 15, parents and the monitoring team of Cu Khe Primary School discovered that Nhat Anh Trading and Service Company Ltd. was smuggling smelly meat and eggs into the school kitchen.

On October 16, the Commune's interdisciplinary food safety inspection team, with the participation of the Hanoi Food Safety Department, worked at the school. Afterwards, the school met with the students' parents and agreed to terminate the contract with Nhat Anh Trading and Service Company Limited.

While waiting for a new food supplier, this school offers two options for lunch: Parents can pick up their children to eat lunch at home or have their children bring lunch to school.

The plan has met with strong reactions from many parents because they believe that the school must be responsible for the organization and quality of meals at school.

Yesterday (October 20), parents of nearly 200 students did not send their children to school, one reason being that they objected to the school's request to bring their own lunch or eat it at home after school.
