These valuable documents are part of the exhibition "30 Years of Vietnam-US Diplomatic Relations" in Hanoi, organized by the National Archives Center III under the State Records and Archives Department in collaboration with the Vietnam-US Association… on July 10th.
This is a practical activity to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States (1995 - 2025) and the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025).
These documents are being published in Vietnam for the first time.
The exhibition features many documents being published for the first time, such as texts related to the process of normalizing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States.
In particular, President Bill Clinton's Statement on establishing normal relations with Vietnam, released at the White House on July 11, 1995, is currently preserved in the U.S. National Archives.

And the Statement by Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet dated July 12, 1995, regarding President Bill Clinton's decision to normalize relations, is currently preserved at the National Archives Center III. Many valuable images of the two countries' diplomacy at this special time are also presented to viewers.
In addition, the exhibition also features a number of war records and artifacts that were returned for the first time to veterans and relatives of fallen soldiers' families, currently preserved at the Vietnam Center and Archives, Texas Tech University, USA.
On this occasion, the US Embassy in Vietnam also presented 30 photographs – symbolizing the number of years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States.
The Vietnam Center at Texas Tech University will donate over 200 sets of war relics and data to the National Archives Center III for management and subsequent return to families.
