According to the report at the conference, after 5 years of implementation, the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption has inherited the advantages of the 2005 Law on Anti-Corruption and the amended and supplemented Law on Anti-Corruption in 2007 and 2012; absorbed and concretized the new contents of the 2013 Constitution and institutionalized the Party's guidelines, viewpoints and policies into law.

The provisions of the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption have created a more complete legal corridor, meeting certain requirements of the fight against corruption in the new situation. The fight against corruption is carried out vigorously according to the policy of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions".

Regarding the implementation of corruption prevention measures, according to the report, ministries, branches and localities conducted 36,112 inspections of the implementation of norms, standards and regimes; discovered 1,900 cases and 2,670 violators; handled 788 people administratively; transferred 69 people to criminal prosecution; proposed to recover 483.3 billion VND, of which 177.7 billion VND was recovered.

During the period 2020 - 2024, 2,060,550 people declared their assets and income during the period, with a disclosure rate of over 98%; 37,106 people had their assets and income verified. 147 people were disciplined for violating regulations on asset and income control.

Regarding the detection and handling of corruption, the entire inspection sector has carried out 37,032 administrative inspections and 935,196 specialized inspections and checks. Through inspections, it has contributed to rectifying management and perfecting mechanisms and legal policies in many fields; detecting economic violations of VND 658,383 billion and 28,321 hectares of land; recommending the recovery of VND 558,977 billion and 5,516 hectares of land; accounting for and excluding VND 299,407 billion and 12,183 hectares of land from the settlement value due to non-compliance with regulations and requesting competent authorities to consider and handle VND 27,325 billion and 12,934 individuals; issuing 599,203 decisions on administrative sanctions against organizations and individuals with a total fine of VND 27,325 billion; recommending the consideration and handling of 12,934 collectives and 15,873 individuals; Transferred 1,714 cases and 1,334 subjects to the investigation agency for consideration and handling.

The police force's investigation agencies have investigated 2,990 cases/7,562 defendants for corruption crimes. Provincial and district-level People's Courts nationwide have accepted 2,932 cases (7,583 defendants) for the first instance on 7 corruption crimes. The courts have tried 2,120 cases (4,898 defendants), with no case of 4,898 defendants being found not guilty.

In the period 2020 - 2024, 264 leaders and deputy leaders were disciplined due to lack of responsibility for corruption; 73 people were criminally prosecuted due to lack of responsibility for corruption...
