According to the report presented at the conference, after five years of implementation, the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption has inherited the advantages of the 2005 Law on Anti-Corruption and the amended and supplemented Laws on Anti-Corruption of 2007 and 2012; it has incorporated and concretized the new contents of the 2013 Constitution and institutionalized the Party's guidelines, viewpoints, and policies into law.

The provisions of the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption have created a more comprehensive legal framework, meeting certain requirements of the fight against corruption in the new situation. The fight against corruption is carried out resolutely according to the principle of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions".

Regarding the implementation of anti-corruption measures, according to the report, ministries, sectors, and localities conducted 36,112 inspections of the implementation of norms, standards, and regulations; detected 1,900 cases and 2,670 violators; handled 788 people administratively; referred 69 people for criminal prosecution; recommended the recovery of 483.3 billion VND, of which 177.7 billion VND has been recovered.

During the period 2020-2024, 2,060,550 people declared their assets and income, with a public disclosure rate exceeding 98%; 37,106 people had their assets and income verified. 147 people were disciplined for violating regulations on asset and income control.

Regarding the detection and handling of corruption, the entire inspection sector conducted 37,032 administrative inspections and 935,196 specialized inspections and audits. These inspections contributed to improving management, perfecting mechanisms, and legal policies in many areas; detecting economic violations totaling 658,383 billion VND and 28,321 hectares of land; recommending the recovery of 558,977 billion VND and 5,516 hectares of land; excluding from final settlement values ​​299,407 billion VND and 12,183 hectares of land due to non-compliance with regulations and proposing competent authorities to consider handling them; issuing 599,203 administrative violation penalties against organizations and individuals totaling 27,325 billion VND; and recommending administrative action against 12,934 collectives and 15,873 individuals. The investigation agency transferred 1,714 cases involving 1,334 individuals for review and handling.

The investigative agencies of the police force have handled 2,990 cases/7,562 defendants accused of corruption. Provincial and district-level people's courts nationwide have handled 2,932 cases (7,583 defendants) at the first instance for 7 corruption offenses. The courts have tried 2,120 cases (4,898 defendants), and the results of the trials show that none of the 4,898 defendants were found not guilty.
