Singer Ngoc Cham has announced a live show to celebrate over 20 years of her singing career and 10 years of producing a series of programs honoring authors and their golden-era works.
Musician Nguyen Quang and singer Ngoc Cham (second and third from the left) share their thoughts about the "Giai Nhan 2" live show.
Titled "Giai Nhan 2" (Beautiful Women 2), the show will take place on December 1st at the Hanoi Grand Opera House. The concert is directed by musician Nguyen Quang and features guest appearances from singers Y Lan, Le Anh Dung, Thai Thuy Linh, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Duc Tung, NC Hoang Luong, Lai Xuan Thanh, VK vocal group, MC Le Anh, fashion designer Huong Queen, and others.
Regarding singer Ý Lan's appearance in the show, composer Nguyễn Quang said that Ý Lan proactively wanted to participate as a guest in the live show because of her affection for singer Ngọc Châm after observing her dedication to art.
Besides that, another reason Ý Lan wanted to sing in Giai Nhân 2, according to musician Nguyễn Quang, was because the program, which features a singer, talks about famous songwriters. Along with this proposal, singer Ý Lan also stated that she didn't need to discuss the money.
Ý Lan was a guest performer at the concert.
The show's director, musician Nguyen Quang, revealed that he has selected beautiful songs that suit the female singer's voice. There will be about 20 songs, divided into three chapters, corresponding to Ngoc Cham's career journey.
Speaking further about the program's focus on famous musicians, singer Ngoc Cham said: The musical pieces performed in the "Giai Nhan 2 " live show are the most famous love songs by six renowned composers of Vietnamese music : Nguyen Anh 9, Ngo Thuy Mien, Pham Duy, Thanh Tung, Tran Tien, and Vu Thanh An… This is also her way of honoring famous Vietnamese musicians.
“There will definitely be 'Tóc gió thôi bay' (Tran Tien) - the first song that Ngoc Cham was taught to sing most meticulously by musician Nguyen Quang; and of course, 'Hoa cúc vàng' (Thanh Tung) - a song that audiences commented Ngoc Cham sang with great emotion and feeling; there will also be 'Mùa Thu ngày ấy tìm nhau' - a song with lyrics written by Ngoc Cham and melody composed by musician Vu Thanh An,” the female singer shared.
Singer Ngoc Cham graduated from Hanoi College of Arts in 2009 and has won numerous music awards. She is the director of the "Golden Era" series of programs honoring Vietnamese composers and musical works.
Composer Vu Thanh An once considered Ngoc Cham his "new muse," inspiring him to write music again after a 20-year hiatus. He transferred the copyrights to all his musical works to the Vietnam-America International Copyright Protection Joint Stock Company (represented by singer Ngoc Cham).
