Miss World Vietnam Australia , Ý Nhi, says she feels comfortable with criticism and has learned to balance her emotions after the controversies.
The news that Ý Nhi will participate in the 72nd Miss World pageant has attracted attention and sparked debate on beauty pageant forums. Opinions argue that she was previously involved in a scandal regarding inappropriate statements, which negatively impacted her image, and that she needs more time to improve.
Ý Nhi stated that she respects all feedback, but doesn't let negativity affect her morale. She comfortably accepts suggestions and doesn't feel the pressure she experienced shortly after winning the crown. "I'm happy that I still receive so much encouragement. It's the love and support from the audience that helps me strive in the upcoming competition," she said.

She once used over 250 million VND in prize money for charity, donating her hair to patients belonging to the Vietnam Breast Cancer Network. During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon, the beauty queen used all of her part-time salary in Australia to donate gifts to the poor in Binh Thuan , totaling over 122 million VND. "Perhaps what I do is still small, but I have never forgotten my role as the reigning beauty queen. My journey of community involvement will continue, as shown in my upcoming projects," the beauty queen said.

Ý Nhi also hones her catwalk skills through self-training and improves her physique with Pilates and running. Currently, she and her team are developing and implementing a charitable project – a crucial part of the competition that will be announced soon. Her time studying abroad has also helped Ý Nhi improve her communication skills and English proficiency. She says she now thinks more maturely and is better at controlling her emotions.

The Miss World organizers have not yet announced the date and location for the 72nd season, so she has more time to prepare. "If the competition takes place in the summer, it certainly won't affect my studies. Otherwise, I will coordinate with the school to make arrangements," Ý Nhi added.
The beauty queen's full name is Huynh Tran Y Nhi, 22 years old, from Binh Dinh province. She is 1.75 m tall, with measurements of 79-59-89 cm, and is currently a business administration student at the International University, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. After winning the crown, Y Nhi participated in many interviews with the media, but faced backlash from the audience for some of her tactless answers, prompting her to apologize. At the end of 2023, Y Nhi announced she would be studying abroad at the University of Sydney for two years.

Miss World is one of the two largest beauty pageants in the world , alongside Miss Universe, first held in England in 1951. At the 71st edition on March 9th in India, Miss Karolina Bielawska crowned her successor, Krystyna Pyszková. Besides Vietnam, many countries such as Panama, Gibraltar, Botswana, etc., also announced their contestants for the new season.
