On the afternoon of September 5th, the Ministry of Health sent an urgent dispatch to the Departments of Health in provinces and cities in the Northern and Central regions, as well as units under the Ministry of Health, regarding the proactive implementation of medical response measures to Typhoon No. 3 and subsequent floods.
Accordingly, to proactively respond to Typhoon No. 3 and the flood situation, the Ministry of Health requests the health departments of provinces and cities in the Northern and Central regions and affiliated health units to urgently and strictly implement the directives of the Prime Minister; the National Civil Defense Steering Committee; the local civil defense command committees and the Ministry of Health regarding proactive response to typhoons and floods, ensuring the safety of the people.
In particular, the Ministry of Health requires medical units to organize 24/7 professional and emergency duty shifts, ready to receive and provide emergency care to victims of storms, floods, and heavy rains, ensuring uninterrupted emergency care and treatment for the people; ensuring sufficient supply of essential medicines for the people, and promptly replenishing reserves of medicines, chemicals, and supplies for disaster prevention and search and rescue.
Implement measures to protect healthcare facilities in areas at risk of being affected by floods; proactively evacuate healthcare facilities in low-lying areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides, and mudslides. Organize environmental sanitation, disease prevention, ensure food safety, and stabilize healthcare facilities after the storms.
