At the Vietnam International Defence Exhibition 2024, units of the General Department of Defence Industry and the Military Telecommunications and Industry Group ( Viettel ) signed 16 contracts with a total value of approximately 286.3 million USD.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien stated that the International Defence Exhibition is one of the largest and most important defense diplomacy events in 2024.

Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the General Department of Defense Industry, gave a detailed report on the exhibition's results.
Accordingly, the Vietnam International Defence Exhibition 2024 will bring together 242 domestic and international defence industry units, with 442 indoor and outdoor exhibition booths.
This includes military equipment such as fighter jets, transport aircraft, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, drones, ships, artillery systems, radar, guns, ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, simulators, communications, optoelectronics, command and control systems, economic and defense products, technology, digital transformation results, cybersecurity, national brand products, regional specialties, and traditional crafts.
According to Major General Le Quang Tuyen, the exhibition displayed 68 types of military equipment in the inventory of the Vietnam People's Army on an area of 10,530 square meters. Among them were two products: the VCM-B anti-ship missile system and a type of ammunition from Project A1.

Regarding domestically produced defense industry, logistics, and technical products, the total number of weapons and technical equipment from Vietnam on display is 464 products (an increase of 155 products compared to 2022).
Additionally, there is an exhibition area showcasing the achievements in building the people's armed forces and the national defense system, covering an area of 8,200 m² , as well as an area introducing Vietnamese cultural spaces.
According to information from the organizers, as of noon today, December 22nd, the event has welcomed over 260,000 visitors, including professionals and the general public.

Within the framework of the exhibition, businesses throughout the military took advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas and work with foreign companies and businesses.
According to the organizers, 1,872 bilateral meetings and working sessions were arranged for military agencies, units, and enterprises to hear product presentations and exchange information on areas of mutual interest.
In particular, Vietnam's defense industry has received numerous orders from foreign partners requesting the supply of defense industry products, such as: infantry rifles, submachine guns, mortar rounds, artillery shells, various types of economic vessels, propellants, explosives used in defense and civilian sectors, and other economic products.
Sixteen contracts worth approximately $286 million were signed at the exhibition.
Units of the General Department of Defense Industry and the Military Telecommunications and Industry Group (Viettel) have signed 16 contracts with a total value of approximately 286.3 million USD.
Specifically, the General Department of Defense Industry signed 11 contracts worth $278.3 million; and the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) signed 5 contracts worth $8 million.
Seventeen strategic cooperation agreements were signed between Vietnam's defense industry and businesses from industrialized countries such as the United States, India, France, and Belgium.
In addition, from the 19th to the 22nd, agencies and units mobilized nearly 10,000 officers, soldiers, and militia members; organized 215 teams and checkpoints to guide traffic, manage traffic flow, and conduct patrols; installed nearly 200 surveillance cameras throughout the area, and 20 UAV suppression sites.
"The Vietnam International Defence Exhibition 2024 was a great success, exceeding all objectives and requirements in every aspect. The exhibition contributed to affirming the correct foreign policy of our Party and State."
Through the exhibition, visitors gain a better understanding of the national defense industry, thereby increasing their confidence in the development of Vietnam's defense industry and the strength of our military.
"At the same time, it enhances the awareness, responsibility, duty, and pride of each officer and soldier, and strengthens the bond with the people in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland," Major General Le Quang Tuyen added.
