2 young doctors registered to practice at Con Dao medical station

On July 14, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that 247 young doctors, after receiving practical training at the city's general and specialized hospitals, will begin their internship at ward and commune health stations.

Dr. Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, spoke at the drawing of lots to allocate doctors from the 4th course of the program to practice at the health station.

Of these, 2 young doctors registered to work at the medical station of the Con Dao Military-Civilian Medical Center, 41 doctors were assigned to medical stations far from the city center such as: Can Gio, Thanh An, Cu Chi, Binh My, Hoc Mon, Ba Diem, Binh Chanh, Vinh Loc...

According to Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, before going to work at health stations, all doctors have attended training courses to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the requirements to perform community health care tasks at health stations.

Unlike previous courses, the 247 doctors of this course first applied the 6-3-3-3-3 rotation model (first 6 months of practice at the general hospital, next 3 months at the health station, 3 months at the hospital, 3 months at the health station and the final 3 months at the hospital), helping doctors rotate regularly between the hospital and the primary health care system, deeply understand the health system and improve their ability to adapt to different working environments.

Regarding the benefits for young doctors participating in the Practical Training Program at hospitals attached to health stations, the hospitals providing practical training will support 100% of the practical tuition fees, equivalent to 3 million VND/month. When practicing at the health station, doctors will be supported with living expenses of 10 million VND/month, according to the specific policy stipulated in Resolution No. 01/2022/NQ-HDND of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.

"Doctors who complete the internship program will be granted a Practice License by the Department of Health - a mandatory condition for independent practice under the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023. In particular, after completing the program, doctors will be given priority to participate in the "Healthcare Career Fair", which connects with hospitals and medical centers that are in need of recruitment, opening up many job opportunities suitable for their abilities and aspirations", Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Tang Chi Thuong informed.
