On the afternoon of September 4, regarding the case of many students of Thai Nguyen Industrial College having fever of unknown cause, including 1 death, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management ( Ministry of Health ) directed the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the National Children's Hospital to support Thai Nguyen Central General Hospital and Thai Nguyen Provincial Department of Health to urgently find the cause of the disease.
At the same time, hospitals have introduced treatment and infection control measures in medical facilities and at Thai Nguyen Industrial College to minimize the number of infections and deaths. If necessary, the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the National Children's Hospital will send working delegations to work directly in Thai Nguyen province.
The Ministry of Health also requested Thai Nguyen Central General Hospital and Thai Nguyen Provincial Department of Health to coordinate in providing medical records, related documents and implemented measures together with the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the National Children's Hospital to implement treatment plans for patients.
According to the Ministry of Health, from August 29 to September 2, 14 students of Thai Nguyen Industrial College showed symptoms of fever, headache, stomachache, vomiting... and came to Thai Nguyen Central General Hospital for examination and treatment. Among them, there was one serious case that asked to go home and died at home (SGGP Newspaper reported) was VMC (born in 2008, permanent residence in Sung Tra commune, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province) - a student of Intermediate Electricity class K57, staying in room 209 K2, dormitory area of Thai Nguyen Industrial College.
