The year-end labor market in Ho Chi Minh City recorded a positive change when the unemployment rate continued to decrease. In addition, the recruitment demand of businesses in many industries increased sharply. Workers have more opportunities to find new jobs in the context of the upcoming New Year and Lunar New Year 2026.
The Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center has compiled statistics on the demand for job seekers and job seekers based on 27 criteria in November, an increase compared to October. Specifically, in November, there were 16,211 job seekers and 19,747 vacant jobs. The highest number of job seekers was in the unskilled labor group with 2,494 people.
On the business side, the center's statistics show that the three industries with the highest recruitment needs include: leather shoes and garment with 2,949 positions, accounting for 14.93%; unskilled labor with 3,337 positions, accounting for 16.9%; food and beverage with 1,789 positions, accounting for 9.06%.

The remarkable point is the reversal of the supply and demand ratio in the labor in the footwear and garment industry. Specifically, in October, the job search demand of workers in this industry group was greater than the recruitment demand of enterprises (2,964 job seekers/2,042 vacant positions). But in November, enterprises had a higher recruitment demand, with 2,949 job positions/2,045 job seekers.
In particular, October recorded businesses "thirsty for unskilled labor" when there were 10,319 vacant positions but only 3,070 job seekers. However, in November, businesses reduced their recruitment needs, with only 3,337 unskilled labor positions, making room for many job positions in other industries to increase.
Specifically, the office administration industry is in need of recruiting 1,119 positions, a sharp increase compared to October with only 278 positions. Next is the mechanical engineering industry which is also in need of recruiting many workers, with 1,505 positions, compared to October with only 732 positions. In addition, the service and manufacturing and processing industries also have recruitment needs that have doubled in October.
The above figures show that jobs for workers at the end of the year are diverse in terms of occupations and increasing in number.

Regarding unemployment insurance, from January 1, 2025 to November 25, 2025, the center received 194,224 cases of unemployment benefit applications, a decrease of 14.12% compared to the same period in 2024. The center submitted to the Department of Home Affairs to sign and issue 186,538 decisions on unemployment benefits for 822,715 people reporting their employment status every month.
In addition, the center also organized 242 job fairs and job counseling sessions for 397,261 people.
