Gia Lai: Building 7 projects to stabilize residents in disaster areas

On December 5, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province issued a decision to issue an emergency construction order for projects and plans to stabilize residents in disaster-hit areas in the western part of the province.

Many houses in Ia Hiao commune, Gia Lai province are built in low-lying areas, often flooded, people want to relocate to stabilize their lives.

According to the decision, Gia Lai province will invest in building 7 resettlement projects and plans to promptly arrange accommodation for households that must urgently relocate due to natural disasters.

Specifically, including: Project to stabilize residents in disaster areas in Ia Tul commune; project to settle down in concentrated areas in Ia Hiao commune; project to resettle residents in disaster areas in Song Ba village, Ia Rsai commune; project to stabilize residents in disaster areas in Nu village, Uar commune; resettlement plan for Ia Ly commune; project to resettle residents in disaster areas in Tbung village, Dak Song commune; plan to resettle residents in disaster areas in Ia Klon, Gum Gop, Bhă Nga, Nông Siu, and Blăk villages (Ia Dreh commune).

The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board was assigned as the investor. The implementation period is in the period 2025-2026, with a total estimated cost of 880 billion VND.

The emergency construction order was issued in the context of storm No. 13 and historic floods from November 16 to 20 causing severe damage, damaging houses, infrastructure, and threatening the lives of people in riverside areas and low mountainous areas.
