On the afternoon of September 7th, the judging panel for the 3rd Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation, organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, the Communist Magazine, the People's Newspaper, Vietnam Television, and the Vietnam Journalists Association , held a meeting to begin judging the entries.
The competition aims to contribute to further promoting the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018, of the Politburo of the 12th Party Congress on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation"; and at the same time effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress.

According to the Organizing Committee, a total of 301,365 entries were submitted nationwide (nearly three times more than the second competition in 2022). Provinces, cities, and ministries/agencies across the country selected and submitted 11,856 entries to the central level. The Organizing Committee selected 3,155 entries across various categories for the preliminary round.
Based on the results, the organizing committee will award prizes in three categories of entries: magazine articles, newspapers, and radio/television/ video clips.
Each category includes: 1 Special Prize, 3 A Prizes, 5 B Prizes, 7 C Prizes, and 10 Consolation Prizes; in addition, 15 "Outstanding Team" awards will be given to agencies, organizations, and localities that have organized and implemented the competition extensively and creatively at the grassroots level, effectively serving the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the Politburo of the 12th Party Congress at the local level, agencies, and units; and have many high-quality entries, including at least one entry that won a B Prize or higher.
In addition to the main prizes, the Organizing Committee of the Competition awarded 15 "Promising" prizes to entries by authors/groups of authors who are members of the Youth Union, young people, and students that reached the final round and received the highest scores among the entries by Youth Union members, young people, and students.
The announcement and award ceremony for the competition was held in mid-October 2023, coinciding with the five-year review of the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018, of the XII Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation".
