After a long period of stagnation that seriously damaged the "health" of the market as well as the real estate business community, since the end of 2023, the real estate market has begun to show signs of recovery.

In the first half of the second quarter of this year, the real estate market is recovering, becoming more positive month by month. A series of real estate projects in various segments have been restarted, started, announced, and introduced to the market.

Along with the recovery of the real estate industry, real estate businesses, especially brokerage businesses, have started a race to attract human resources, with attractive recruitment policies to attract high-quality brokerage forces.

Research data from the Vietnam Association of Realtors (VARS) shows that since the beginning of this year, the number of new brokers entering and returning to the real estate market has grown strongly. In the first 5 months of the year alone, it is estimated that about 40% of brokers have returned to the industry compared to the most difficult time of the market.

Previously, according to VARS statistics, in 2023, about 70% of real estate brokers quit their jobs. More than 90% of real estate industry employees had their income reduced. A wave of layoffs occurred in most real estate-related businesses.

Regarding brokerage, a report recently published by the Dat Xanh Services Institute of Economic - Financial - Real Estate Research (DXS-FERI) shows that although the rate of real estate brokers changing careers used to be above 30%, at the time of the survey (first quarter of 2024), 13% of brokers who quit their jobs returned to the industry and 55% of brokers who quit their jobs are expected to join in the near future.

Dan Tri reporters' observations over the past time also show that the current brokerage floors are bustlingly starting a race to hunt for personnel. Brokerage floors have launched many competitive activities with attractive policies, fixed salaries and commissions, aiming to increase their scale to have enough resources to help expand the market and market share.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Chairman of VARS - before the lesson of having to leave in large numbers in the previous period, real estate brokers who have just joined and returned to the market have also undergone a revolution in thinking, with a cautious mindset. Brokers have prepared their knowledge and professional skills for themselves to choose a trading floor to invest in.

"Trading floors with diverse and quality sources of goods, training programs, and a standard, professional corporate culture are the priority choice of real estate industry personnel," said Mr. Dinh.

To attract and retain high-quality brokerage staff, brokerage service businesses need to develop a training and professional development roadmap. In particular, businesses create conditions and provide financial support for brokers to participate in training courses, improve knowledge and take the real estate brokerage certification exam.

In addition, according to Mr. Dinh, it is necessary to research and develop attractive commission policies and flexible "hot" bonus packages to motivate excellent brokers or those who exceed their targets. This also creates a professional working environment, a standard corporate culture with a clear promotion path and attractive welfare policies.

The leader of a real estate transaction office in Hanoi also shared that recently, the office's activities have been more vibrant. In addition to the number of successful transactions being higher than in 2023, the office's brokerage recruitment activities have also been promoted during this time.

According to the above leader, the new regulations of the Law on Real Estate Business that has just been passed will eliminate many non-professional real estate brokers, thereby creating a healthy and transparent real estate business environment.
