Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí02/01/2025

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - This afternoon (January 2nd), the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) announced that tickets for the second leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final between the Vietnamese and Thai national teams in Bangkok have completely sold out.
The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) only started selling tickets for the second leg of the semi-final this morning (January 2nd). However, after only two hours of sales, all 47,000 tickets for the match at Rajamangal Stadium in Bangkok (Thailand) between the Vietnamese and Thai national teams were sold out. This is the second leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final, kicking off at 8 PM on Sunday (January 5th).

The Rajamangala Stadium has a capacity of nearly 52,000 spectators. The match organizers issued 47,000 tickets for sale to Thai fans, with the remaining tickets distributed to Vietnamese team supporters, partners, and sponsors of the FAT (Football Association of Thailand). With 47,000 tickets sold, the second leg of the AFF Cup final will be the match with the largest attendance at Rajamangala Stadium so far in the tournament. Previously, the match with the highest attendance at Rajamangala Stadium in this year's Southeast Asian Football Championship was the second leg of the semi-final between Thailand and the Philippines on December 30th, which had nearly 32,000 spectators.

The fact that Rajamangala Stadium was packed with spectators at an international tournament is something that hasn't happened in quite a while, especially when the Thai national team plays at home. This reflects the immense appeal of the Thailand-Vietnam match at this time. At the 2022 AFF Cup, the Thai national team hosted the Vietnamese national team at Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani (Thailand). At that time, the Rajamangala National Stadium was undergoing renovations. Before the second leg of the final on the evening of January 5th at Rajamangala Stadium, Vietnam and Thailand will play the first leg of the final at 8 PM tonight (January 2nd) at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ). All 20,000 tickets for the first leg of the final (including 17,000 tickets sold to spectators and approximately 3,000 tickets distributed to partners) have already been sold.
