933 candidates registered for the professor and associate professor qualifications, the youngest is 34 years old.

Today, the State Council of Professors announced the list of candidates proposed by the Basic Council of Professors to be considered for recognition of meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025.

Of the 933 candidates, 89 candidates requested to be considered for recognition as professors and 844 candidates requested to be considered for recognition as associate professors. This list does not include candidates from the two Councils of Professors of Security Science and Military Science.

This year, all 26 sectors/interdisciplinary sectors have candidates. In 2024, the Culture sector has "no" candidates participating in the proposal for review.

This year, the two youngest candidates for associate professor in the country in 2025 are Dr. Do Quang Loc and Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh, both born in 1992. Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh is currently a senior researcher at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Institute of Chemistry, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and a visiting lecturer at the Academy of Science and Technology. She is a candidate for recognition as an associate professor by the Interdisciplinary Council of Professors of Chemistry and Food Technology.

The two majors of Economics and Medicine continue to lead with the largest number of candidates for professor and associate professor. Of which, Economics has 153 candidates with 11 professors and 142 associate professors; Medicine has 124 candidates, including 15 professors and 109 associate professors.

Chemistry - Food Technology has 64 candidates, Physics has 53 candidates and Mechanics - Dynamics has 47 candidates.

This year, there are 8 Faculty Councils of majors/interdisciplinary departments without professor candidates, including: Agriculture - Forestry; Law; Culture - Arts - Sports; Linguistics; Mechanics; Irrigation; History - Archaeology - Ethnology - Anthropology.
