933 candidates registered for the professor and associate professor qualifications, the youngest is 34 years old.

Today, the State Council of Professors announced the list of candidates recommended by the University Councils of Professors for consideration for recognition as professors and associate professors in 2025.

Of the 933 candidates, 89 applied for professorship and 844 applied for associate professorship. This list does not include candidates from the two Professorship Councils for Security Science and Military Science.

This year, all 26 sectors/interdisciplinary fields have applicants. In 2024, the Culture sector had no applicants submitting applications for consideration.

This year, the two youngest candidates for associate professorship nationwide in 2025 are Dr. Do Quang Loc and Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh, both born in 1992. Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh is currently a principal researcher at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Institute of Chemistry, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and a visiting lecturer at the Academy of Science and Technology. She is a candidate for recognition as an associate professor by the Interdisciplinary Council of Professors in Chemistry and Food Technology.

Dr. Do Quang Loc, lecturer at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is a candidate for recognition as an associate professor by the Council of Professors in the field of Physics.

Economics and Medicine continue to lead with the highest number of candidates for professor and associate professor positions. Specifically, Economics has 153 candidates, including 11 professors and 142 associate professors; Medicine has 124 candidates, including 15 professors and 109 associate professors.

The Chemistry - Food Technology interdisciplinary field has 64 candidates, the Physics field has 53 candidates, and the Mechanical Engineering - Automotive Engineering field has 47 candidates.

This year, eight disciplinary/interdisciplinary Professorial Councils have no professor candidates, including: Agriculture - Forestry; Law; Culture - Arts - Physical Education and Sports; Linguistics; Mechanics; Water Resources; History - Archaeology - Ethnology - Anthropology.
