Attending the 7th Race in Thai Nguyen , on the guest side, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Dong - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Fatherland Front of Dai Phuc Commune, Thai Nguyen Province; Mr. Le Khuong Duy - Vice Chairman of Dai Phuc Commune, Thai Nguyen Province; Mr. Vu Tien - Former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper.
On Agribank's side, there were Ms. Phung Thi Binh - Member of the Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy General Director of Agribank; Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong - Former Member of the Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy General Director of Agribank; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen - Permanent Vice President in charge of the Trade Union of Agribank Headquarters; Ms. Nguyen Thi Lap - Director of Agribank Nam Thai Nguyen Branch; leaders and former leaders of the Departments and Centers at the Headquarters and branches in the Agribank system, along with nearly 400 athletes participating in the Run.
From youth movement to sustainable running
More than 7 years ago, in response to the 30th anniversary of Agribank, the Youth Union launched a running movement. Initially, it was just small groups of a few young cadres who were passionate about running. But from those simple steps, a new community was born - a sustainable sports community, full of love and bearing the mark of Agribank.
From a small playground, Agrirun quickly became the glue that connects thousands of Agribank staff, relatives and customers. Running is no longer just a physical exercise, but has become an "invisible thread" that connects Agribank people in all regions of the country. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Thao (Agribank Trang An branch), the best athlete in the 5km distance, shared: "We started just because we wanted to be healthy. But the more we run, the more we bond. Running with colleagues, sharing joys and sorrows at work, and together overcoming our own limits... Agrirun has become a beautiful memory in my journey at Agribank".
The precious thing is that from the first steps on the Capital road, the movement has continuously spread and grown throughout the country. In each branch, each locality, the Agrirun spirit is continued by separate, vibrant and close-knit clubs. Names such as Agrirun Vinh Phuc, Agrirun Thai Nguyen... have demonstrated the enduring vitality of the movement, when the spirit of sports - solidarity - sharing has become a common source in the lives of Agribank staff.
Mr. Hoang Thanh Tung (Agribank Cau Giay branch), the best athlete in the 10km distance, shared: “When standing at the starting line, I was surrounded by colleagues from all over the country, some of whom I had never met. But once we entered the running track, we became teammates. The cheers, the handshakes, the pats on the back… all created a very special strength. Agrirun made me more proud to be a part of Agribank”.
To date, the Agrirun community has had more than 150 Marathoners complete the 42km, more than 300 people conquer the 21km Half Marathon, and thousands of people participate in other distances. Many of them have brought back impressive achievements, affirming Agribank's position in the national sports movement. These achievements not only affirm endurance, but also prove that Agribank has been building a strong and widespread sports community.
Every step is a bridge of love
In the development journey, the annual Agrirun Half Marathon (AHM) has become an anticipated meeting place. Nearly 500 athletes from all branches across the country gather, wearing red shirts together, heading towards the finish line. Not only is it a physical race, each season is a touching story. An officer over 50 years old still perseveres to conquer each step; a group of young union members holding hands to reach the finish line in tears of happiness; or the image of Agribank leaders walking with colleagues - all leave unforgettable memories.
Mr. Doan Luong Thien (Head of Project Management Department - Agribank Information Technology Center) - Chairman of Agrirun Club, proudly said: "I think Agrirun is the place where we feel the word 'home' most clearly. Here, we not only work together, but also live together, share together. And when I put on the Agrirun shirt, I feel extremely proud to be an Agribanker."
The special feature of AHM lies not only in its sports expertise, but also in its social responsibility. All funds from purchasing bibs to participate in the tournament are used to carry out charity programs. In Thai Nguyen - where Agrirun organized the tournament in 2025, this money was donated to meaningful social security activities: granting scholarships to poor but studious students, supporting schools in mountainous areas, and expressing love for the homeland through the maps "I love my Fatherland". This is the combination of sports power and responsibility to the community - where each step is not only a journey to conquer oneself but also a bridge to extend love and sharing.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Ha, Vice Chairman of Dai Phuc Commune People's Committee, representing the local government to attend and receive social security activities, shared: “We really appreciate the sentiments of Agribank officials and members. These gifts not only have material value but are also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping poor students and local people have more motivation to overcome difficulties, towards a better future. Thank you Agribank for choosing Thai Nguyen as the destination for this meaningful race”.
Where love and responsibility spread
From the movement launched on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Agribank, up to now, after more than 7 years of development, the Agrirun race has become an annual sports and cultural event, closely associated with the lives of Agribank staff throughout the system. With the spirit of "Every homeland is the Fatherland's sky", Agrirun has traveled through many lands, carrying the red Agribank shirt with pride and love for the homeland. Each race is a story, a mark and an opportunity to connect and spread the image of Agribank as dynamic, responsible and emotional.
Behind the strong spread of the Agrirun movement is the attention, direction and close companionship from the Agribank Board of Directors. That presence and support brings great encouragement to each officer and employee. In each step, they clearly feel the encouragement and trust from the leaders. That is what has given strength to the Agribank athletes to be more persistent on the running track as well as in the journey of dedication to Agribank.
Ms. Phung Thi Binh, Deputy General Director of Agribank, emphasized: “We do not consider Agrirun as just a group of people who love running and sports. This is a cultural feature, a source of pride. Every cadre and union member who participates in Agrirun spreads the image of Agribank as dynamic, connected and responsible to the community.”
After more than 7 years, Agrirun has gone from a small youth movement to a sustainable community, becoming one of the cultural characteristics of Agribank. And this year, with its mark in Thai Nguyen, Agrirun once again affirms the power of connection and sharing. Each step of hearts beating in unison is proof that Agribank is not only a bank of numbers, but also a bank of humanity and social responsibility. The footsteps of Agribank people have never stopped, and will certainly go further, sowing seeds of love across the country.
