NDO - On the morning of April 16, at Huu Nghi International Border Gate (Lang Son), General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, and a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of National Defense performed a ceremony to salute the border marker and paint the border marker 1116, officially launching activities within the framework of the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.

The Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program is an important defense diplomacy activity, co-organized by the two countries ' Defense Ministries since 2014.

Through 9 times of organization, the exchange program with practical and specific activities such as: Joint patrol, humanitarian medical examination and treatment, friendship tree planting, cultural and sports exchanges, school visits... has contributed to strengthening political trust, deepening defense cooperation between the two countries, building a peaceful and developed border area.

Immediately afterwards, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense, and a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense passed through the Friendship International Border Gate to China to attend exchange activities.

This program took place on April 16 and 17 in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) and Lang Son province (Vietnam).

Taking place right after the State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, at the time of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the program is a testament to the determination of the two Parties, two States and peoples in joining hands to foster the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, contributing to further deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.
