On the afternoon of July 27th, a group of five young men and one young woman traveled by motorbike from Lam Dong to Phan Thiet City to have fun at Doi Duong Park beach. It was raining lightly and the sea was rough, but the group still went swimming.

While swimming and playing, three people were swept away by the waves. Two managed to swim back to shore and were rescued by locals who provided first aid and took them to the hospital. One victim, Pham Bui Minh Khoi, 17 years old, from Lam Dong province (who had just finished 11th grade), is missing.

Rescue teams deployed canoes and fishing boats to search for the young man, but he had not been found by evening. Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 2, Phan Thiet is currently experiencing heavy rain, high waves, and limited visibility, making the search operation difficult.

On July 15th, a group of seven tourists from Saigon were swimming in the sea in front of the Victoria resort in Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city, when they were swept away by waves. They were rescued by speedboat and brought ashore. Two of them were in critical condition and required emergency treatment.
