Bac Ninh summarizes and awards the 2023 Ngo Gia Tu Journalism Award

The speech reviewing the glorious tradition of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press presented by Comrade Nguyen Tien Vu, Editor-in-Chief of Bac Ninh Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Chairman of the 2023 Ngo Gia Tu Press Award Council affirmed: In the process of building, innovating and developing the country, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has developed strongly in both scale and quantity. By the end of 2023, the whole country had more than 820 press agencies with about 41,000 people working in the field of journalism; 20,508 people were granted press cards and more than 27,000 people were admitted as members of the Vietnam Journalists Association .

Promoting the tradition of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, Bac Ninh press has continuously innovated and developed. The quality and effectiveness of propaganda work of Bac Ninh press has been increasingly improved, recognized and highly appreciated by leaders, people of all walks of life, and audiences inside and outside the province. The team of provincial journalists continues to strengthen solidarity and unity, maintain political orientation, innovate content and methods of operation, and further enhance the role, quality and effectiveness of the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association at all levels in the new period.

The 2023 Ngo Gia Tu Journalism Award attracted more than 100 authors and groups of authors with 126 works and groups of works. The entries have good content quality and will be used in the province's mass media and central newspapers and radio stations in 2023. Through two preliminary and final rounds, the Provincial Award Council considered and awarded prizes to 43 works and groups of works in two categories, of which group A has 22 works; group B has 21 works.

The works considered for awards this year have invested in ideas, closely followed the theme, and exploited details. Many works have the nature of discovery, in-depth criticism, are topical, attract public attention, and create positive social effects. However, the number of truly high-quality works is not much, and news articles that criticize society and fight against negativity and waste are still lacking and weak.

On this occasion, the Provincial Journalists Association announced the Decision of the Vietnam Journalists Association on awarding the Medal for Journalism Career.
