Doctors returning to Binh Thuan will receive over 600 million VND.

Doctors who commit to working at public facilities in Binh Thuan for 10 years will receive 600-800 million VND.

This policy was approved by the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Council in a resolution on supporting the training, attraction, and remuneration of medical personnel in the province, dated October 10th.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, Binh Thuan currently has 949 doctors, of which 713 work at 146 public health institutions; and 236 work at other medical facilities and private clinics. With this number, the province only has a ratio of 7.7 doctors per 10,000 people. To reach the target of 9 doctors per 10,000 people by 2025, the province needs an additional 184 medical professionals.

According to this policy, doctors with a university degree receive 600 million VND; resident doctors with a master's degree and Level I specialist qualifications receive 700 million VND; and doctors with a doctoral degree and Level II specialist qualifications receive 800 million VND.

If they don't receive the payment all at once, they can receive it annually (60-80 million VND) over 10 years.

Doctors recruited through invitations to participate in the project also receive 80 million VND per month, or 3,636,000 VND per day, with accommodation and travel expenses covered.

In addition, doctors working in ethnic minority areas, mountainous regions, and areas with special difficulties receive an extra 15-100% of their monthly salary.

In addition, Binh Thuan also provides support (tuition fees, research and study costs) for training doctors at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels for officials and students who commit to working long-term at public health facilities in the locality (10-14 years).

If they violate the agreement, those in this category will have to reimburse the funds they have received.

Not only Binh Thuan, but many other provinces and cities also have policies to attract doctors to their localities. In 2022, doctors with the academic title of professor who came to work in Thanh Hoa would immediately receive 1.3 billion VND, associate professors would receive 800 million VND; and doctors with PhDs and specialist doctors (level II) would receive 400 million VND in support.

Doctors with a Level II or PhD in Traditional Medicine will receive 350 million VND in support, while doctors working in public hospitals may receive an additional 2-4 million VND per month.
