The atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day is spreading throughout the country. Located only about 2 hours away from Hanoi, Bai Chay - the bustling tourist center of Quang Ninh - is becoming the top choice of many northern tourists for a short vacation on September 2.
Close enough to return to the capital in time to watch the parade on the morning of September 2, and fully converging the experience of a bustling festival with flags, flowers, and entertainment, Bai Chay is more brilliant than ever during the big holiday season.
At Sun World Ha Long - the entertainment heart of Bai Chay, from the Dragon Park gate to the Sun Hill, hundreds of red flags with yellow stars flutter in the sky, highlighted by a giant flag made from thousands of red and yellow flowers, a place where there are almost never no visitors coming to check-in.
On the very first morning of the holiday, thousands of tourists joined in the bustling atmosphere of the Flashmob "Proudly Stepping Forward to the Future".
Sun World Ha Long also “treats” visitors with a series of performances by international artists and diverse experiential activities, spanning from morning to night in three main areas: Golden Dragon Fountain, Dragon Park and Sun Hill.
Just over 1km from Sun World Ha Long, Sun Carnival Square is also the focal point in Bai Chay with a series of special events on the occasion of September 2. On the evening of the first day of the August 30 holiday, thousands of locals and tourists flocked here to admire the brilliant 10-minute fireworks display, lighting up the night sky of the heritage bay. The fireworks night not only brought a visual feast but also truly became a place to connect the community - where everyone felt they belonged to something great and proud: the fatherland.
Before the fireworks, visitors flock to the Vui-Fest night market right next to the fireworks area, where they can enjoy local specialties, immerse themselves in street music and exciting interactive activities. The festive atmosphere permeates every stall and every step, making this an ideal meeting place for the whole family before the sky lights up.
On the morning of September 2, the Flag Raising Ceremony and Flagpole Inauguration will take place at Sun Carnival Square. The national flag will flutter in the blue sky, accompanied by the national anthem, witnessed by a large number of people, officials and tourists. This is an activity in the bustling atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of National Day, to honor the national spirit and arouse national pride.
Also on the morning of September 2, visitors to Sun Carnival Square will have the opportunity to admire a giant hot air balloon performance printed with the red flag with a yellow star flying in the heritage sky - an image that promises to be full of emotions on the country's important holiday.
This special hot air balloon is expected to be up to 31m high, 26m in diameter, with a maximum lifting capacity of 1,550kg and the ability to carry 18-20 people per trip, giving visitors the experience of viewing the whole Ha Long Bay from an impressive height - where the Vietnamese national flag flies proudly in the blue sky.
Not only appearing on National Day, the hot air balloon is expected to continue operating periodically until the end of December 2025, bringing a unique experience to visitors when visiting Bai Chay at any time in the last months of the year. The image of the national flag flying in the air amidst the sea and sky of Ha Long Bay is therefore not only a symbol of pride, but also becomes a new check-in highlight in Quang Ninh at the end of the year.
Although she has been to Quang Ninh many times, Ms. Thu Ha (Hanoi) still chose Bai Chay as her destination during this year's holiday. "Thinking about September 2 means thinking about the Fatherland, so when I saw the information that there would be a flag raising ceremony and fireworks display here, my whole family decided to go right away. The atmosphere was very bustling, the spirit of pride was spread strongly," she shared.
