The provincial steering committee deployed preparations for civil defense drills to respond to forest fires.

The conference heard a briefing on the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee's directive regarding the organization of the 2024 Bac Ai District Civil Defense and Forest Fire Response Exercise; heard the announcement of the Provincial People's Committee's decision on the establishment of the Exercise Steering Committee; and approved the Steering Committee's exercise plan and the draft assignment of tasks to each member of the Steering Committee. According to the plan, the Bac Ai District Civil Defense exercise consists of two phases: Phase 1: organizing preparations for responding to forest fires; and Phase 2: practicing forest fire fighting, addressing consequences, dealing with environmental issues, and implementing forest restoration measures.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the purpose and requirements of the civil defense exercise. He also requested the Provincial Steering Committee to manage, supervise, inspect, and guide relevant departments, agencies, and localities to prepare and conduct the exercise according to plan, ensuring absolute safety. The Department of Finance was instructed to quickly compile and appraise the budget to ensure the exercise achieves high results. The Standing Committee was tasked with coordinating and ensuring the best possible outcome for the exercise.
