With the theme “Reaching the digital era - Spreading green values”, the report focuses on the strategy of integrating ESG standards (Environment, Society and Governance) into the bank's operations, with special attention to two pillars: responsible credit and responsible operations.
The report complies with 18 GRI criteria and fully references the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), affirming HDBank 's strong commitment to supporting a green and sustainable economy.
HDBank is one of the first banks in Vietnam to publish a Sustainable Development Report in 2025.
From Responsible Credit to Efficient Operations: A Journey of Spreading for the Community
Sticking to the message of “Responsible Credit – Responsible Operation – Responsible Partnership – Responsible Communication”, HDBank has gradually built a green financial ecosystem, serving priority areas such as sustainable agriculture , renewable energy, healthcare, education and social enterprises.
HDBank's strategy is to develop responsible credit, turning capital into a bridge between business development and social mission.
The 2024 report shows that: 100% of corporate customer loans are classified as having environmental and social risks according to regulations on environmental and social risk management (ESMS); 44% of outstanding loans are concentrated in class 2 urban areas and rural areas; More than VND 31,000 billion has been disbursed for green projects since 2019; Nearly VND 3,400 billion is reserved for women-owned enterprises in 2023.
HDBank brings sustainable finance closer to the community, contributing to spreading the value of harmonious and friendly living.
In addition, HDBank has mobilized a green credit line of USD 240 million from IFC, ADB and Propaco; a trade finance line of USD 320 million from IFC and ADB to prioritize commercial activities in the fields of renewable energy, green agriculture and sustainable finance. HDBank is also one of the first private banks in Vietnam to issue green bonds worth VND 3,000 billion by the end of 2024, demonstrating its pioneering role and commitment to climate finance.
In terms of internal operations, HDBank continues to promote digital transformation, deploying emission measurement technology at the Galaxy Innovation Center (GIH), saving more than 2.5 tons of paper and spreading digital culture throughout the ecosystem. Social responsibility activities have been expanded, including the program "Giving thousands of love" - bringing digital banking to people in disaster-hit and disadvantaged areas, while popularizing digital knowledge and community financial management skills.
Accompanying OCOP entities to promote Vietnamese agricultural products is one of the bank's activities in developing green credit, promoting responsible consumption and connecting clean agricultural products with the market.

The 2024 Sustainable Development Report demonstrates HDBank's long-term commitment to creating sustainable value for customers, communities and the planet.
