On September 6, the People's Committee of Long An province held the inauguration ceremony and opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year at Vo Van Tan High School, Duc Hoa Dong commune, Duc Hoa district, Long An province.

Vo Van Tan High School is built on an area of about 3 hectares, including 28 classrooms, 18 functional rooms, offices, library and other auxiliary works, ensuring the learning of about 2,025 students.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Tan Hoa, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee, said Duc Hoa is a district in the province's key industrial development area. Currently, the district's population is over 420,000 people.
According to the planning data by 2030, the district is expected to have about 450,000 people and by 2045, the district is expected to have about 600,000 people.
With the above population size, it is expected that by 2030, the district will need to invest in building 9 more schools and by 2050, the district will need to build 18 more schools.
Therefore, the inauguration and operation of Vo Van Tan High School is of great significance. Because the school's operation not only solves the difficulty in school facilities serving local children, but also aims to build a school that meets national standards, contributing to improving the qualityof education in the district in conjunction with implementing the criteria for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas in a sustainable manner.

Notably, Vo Van Tan High School is the second school in the country (after Sakura Montessori Ha Dong Kindergarten) to be granted the EDGE Green Building Certificate. The issuing unit is the International Finance Corporation - a member of the World Bank Group.
"On behalf of the leaders of Long An province, I acknowledge and commend the consensus of the people whose land was recovered; together with the joint efforts and solidarity of the cadres and people of Duc Hoa district to build and quickly complete the modern school, named after Vo Van Tan - a typical revolutionary leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution" - Mr. Pham Tan Hoa emphasized.

Nguyen Trung Truc High School and Vo Van Tan High School were funded by former President Truong Tan Sang from Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) and MikGroup Vietnam Corporation with a total construction cost of about 300 billion VND.
