Hiep was orphaned at a young age and lived with his elderly maternal grandparents in extremely difficult economic circumstances. On March 24th, on his way home from school, he was unfortunately involved in a serious traffic accident, resulting in a broken right leg and multiple other injuries.

Doctors at the Central Highlands Regional General Hospital recommended that the family take the child to Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) for timely treatment to avoid the risk of necrosis. However, due to financial constraints, the family had to continue treatment locally under limited conditions. Previously, in 2023, the child's maternal grandmother, Tran Thi Thuy, also suffered a traffic accident, forcing the family to sell all their assets to pay for medical expenses exceeding 100 million VND.
