Hiep lost his parents at a young age and lived with his elderly grandparents in extremely difficult economic circumstances. On March 24, on his way home from school, he was unfortunately involved in a serious traffic accident, resulting in a broken right leg and many other injuries.

Doctors at the Central Highlands General Hospital recommended that the family take the child to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) for timely treatment to avoid the risk of necrosis. However, because they could not afford the cost, the family had to let the child receive treatment locally under limited conditions. Previously, in 2023, the child's grandmother - Mrs. Tran Thi Thuy - was also in a traffic accident, forcing the family to sell all of their assets to pay for the hospital bill of more than 100 million VND.
