The announcement was posted on the official Facebook fanpage of the Hanoi Museum about the temporary suspension of visitors from July 15 and is expected to reopen on August 6. The temporary suspension is to focus on the construction of a thematic exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025). The exhibition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Public Security and the Hanoi People's Committee.

The Hanoi Museum construction project officially started in May 2008 on Pham Hung Street, Hanoi. The museum has a total area of 53,963 m², is over 30 m high, and includes 4 floors above ground and 2 basements. The 4th floor has the largest area, the lower floors gradually become smaller in an inverted pyramid structure. This is a modern project with a total construction investment of over 2,300 billion VND.

Hanoi Museum currently preserves more than 70,000 documents and artifacts of various types and materials. These are valuable cultural heritages, introducing the thousands of years of development history of Thang Long - Hanoi.

With many innovative efforts in recent times, especially the establishment of the Hanoi City Creative Center located at the Hanoi Museum, many exhibitions, interactions, experiences, and creative activities have attracted a large number of visitors. The museum is transforming strongly, gradually becoming a unique creative space in the heart of the capital.

Director of Hanoi Museum, Mr. Nguyen Tien Da, said that in recent years, the Museum has continuously made efforts to innovate in exhibitions and activities. Along with perfecting the regular exhibition system, the Museum has also implemented manyeducational activities, experiences, art exhibitions, art performances and technology applications.

“Currently, the Museum has temporarily stopped receiving visitors on the first floor, but visitors can still visit and experience the Museum's garden area. After the thematic exhibition of the Ministry of Public Security, it is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2025, the Museum will complete the exhibition on all 4 floors according to the Plan of the Hanoi People's Committee,” Mr. Nguyen Tien Da informed.
