Turning the "desert" into an advantage.
Binh Thuan province has a predominantly hilly and mountainous terrain, with narrow coastal plains. Coastal sand dunes and low hills occupy a large portion of its natural area. The equatorial monsoon tropical climate brings abundant sunshine and wind, and the absence of a winter season, making Binh Thuan the driest region in the country.
Standing out amidst the windy, sandy, and sunny "desert" landscape, the Bau Trang U&Me tourist area has taken advantage of the harsh weather conditions, turning those difficulties into strengths and attracting a large number of visitors to Binh Thuan.
Established in late 2019 as a small-scale tourist facility, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Resort was not the first tourist establishment to set up shop here. Later, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the business to temporarily cease operations. However, through perseverance, hard work, and dedication, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Resort has now grown significantly in both scale and quality.

Mr. Pham Van Trong, Director of Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area, shared: “At that time, we only had 12 employees with a total investment of 20 billion VND. The most difficult challenge was establishing our brand so that people would remember, know, and visit us. Through our efforts, determination, and the support of the local community, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area has now become a tourist destination in the Bau Trang scenic area in particular and Binh Thuan province in general.”
Having been with Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Resort since its early days, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhi, currently the food and beverage manager, earns over 10 million VND per month. She shared: “I used to be a farmer at home, but since working for Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Resort, my income and that of my family have become more stable. I have a steady job and I'm contributing to building a prosperous and beautiful Bac Binh hometown.”

Novel tourism products
With an investment of over 50 billion VND, the 1.5-hectare Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area is now fully equipped with parking lots, waiting areas, reception areas, rest stops, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. Despite the "huge" investment and modern amenities, the Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area still preserves its natural landscape, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for visitors to enjoy their time there.
Therefore, over the past three years, the Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area has consistently been chosen by the local authorities to host numerous regional and national-level events, attracting thousands of participants. Particularly in 2023, when Binh Thuan hosted the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence," many cultural, sports , and tourism events of national, regional, and provincial significance were successfully organized here.
First and foremost, mention must be made of the success of the Binh Thuan BTV Stop And Run Marathon, organized for the first time in 2022 by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL), Binh Thuan Radio and Television Station, the People's Committee of Tuy Phong and Bac Binh districts, and other collaborating units. The race not only attracted nearly 1,000 domestic and international athletes but also thousands of tourists who came to watch and enjoy the event. Here, people had the opportunity to witness the race on the coastal road dubbed "the most beautiful coastal road in Vietnam," the Hoa Thang - Hoa Phu route.

Building on this success, the tournament has become an annual sporting event, attracting thousands of participants and steadily increasing each year (nearly 1,800 athletes in 2023 and over 4,500 athletes in 2024), paving the way for larger-scale events in Binh Thuan province.
2023 marked a significant milestone and a major turning point in all aspects for the Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area, as Binh Thuan province was honored to host the National Tourism Year 2023. Since then, the Bau Trang area in general, and the Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area in particular, have further solidified their brand by successfully organizing numerous grand and large-scale events, and receiving many Guinness World Records for Vietnam.
First and foremost is the Moto Festival 2023, held in February 2023, which brought together over 2,000 bikers from across the country to participate in a parade. This event set a Guinness World Record for Vietnam: The largest motorcycle parade in Vietnam.
In October of the same year, the Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area was again selected by the province to host the "Kite Festival and Supercar Parade," attracting over 3,500 participants. The event featured approximately 1,000 kites and 60 supercars of various types, leaving visitors in awe of its scale and grandeur. On this occasion, the event set a Guinness World Record for the largest kite in Vietnam, with a kite measuring over 800 square meters.
Mr. Tran Minh Trien, Vice President of the Binh Thuan Kite Federation, commented that Bau Trang U&Me is the perfect destination for tourists, especially those passionate about outdoor sports and tourism. Through the events at Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area, the image of green tourism in Binh Thuan will be spread to domestic and international tourists.

The race featured nearly 150 athletes participating in two categories: motocross and off-road vehicles.
Mr. Thai Thanh Chung, Deputy Director of HTV and representative of the Organizing Committee, said that this was the first time the athletes had the opportunity to compete on the unique terrain of the Bau Trang sand dunes in Binh Thuan. "We always want to bring excitement, new and exciting moments to the audience and fans. At the same time, the tournament also aims to contribute to promoting the cultural values and unique tourism products of Binh Thuan in particular, and Vietnam in general, to everyone," said Mr. Thai Thanh Chung.

Working together for the tourism industry.
Choosing its own path, transforming the windy, sandy, and sunny "desert" into an indispensable destination for tourists while preserving nature and local identity, the Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area has achieved many successes over the past five years. In particular, to commend and encourage outstanding achievements in advising, organizing, and implementing the 2023 National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" in the locality, at the end of 2023, the Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area was honored to receive a commendation from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province, commented that the joint organization of festivals aims to create a wider reach so that domestic and international tourists and friends will learn more about the land, culture, and scenic spots of Binh Thuan. At the same time, it creates rich and diverse tourism products, serving the development of tourism in Binh Thuan. Through this, it promotes and introduces Bau Trang as a protected historical site, enhancing the value of cultural heritage to serve the development of local tourism, contributing to raising awareness and action among the people in preserving and promoting tangible and intangible cultural values and scenic spots in the province.
