TPO - The new National Exhibition and Convention Center project is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in July 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd.
The project, replacing the old Exhibition Center in Giang Vo, spans a total area of 90 hectares and is expected to become an international destination for leading regional and global trade events and exhibitions. |
The project to build a new National Exhibition and Convention Center is located in Dong Anh district ( Hanoi city), replacing the old Exhibition Center in Giang Vo. The complex is expected to become an international destination for leading global trade events and exhibitions. |
Construction began on August 30th, and the National Exhibition and Convention Center is considered a key project of the capital city. The project covers a total area of 90 hectares, placing it among the top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world. |
The center includes an indoor exhibition hall featuring the image of the Golden Turtle deity, divided into 9 sections, with a total area of over 130,000 m2. There are also four outdoor exhibition parks with a total area of up to 20.6 hectares, along with many other diverse supporting facilities. |
The indoor exhibition area stands out with its design inspired by the Golden Turtle God - a deity associated with the legend of building the Co Loa Citadel. |
In Eastern culture, the turtle is one of the four sacred animals, symbolizing stability and longevity. Not only does it bring good fortune to the area, but the Golden Turtle also represents the spirit and aspirations of Vietnam. |
According to the project investor, a detailed plan has been developed and efforts are being made to complete the construction investment plan by July 2025, just over 10 months after the commencement of construction, in order to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). |
Upon completion, the project will become a destination, an artistic highlight, and capable of hosting international and regional political and cultural events. |
The events held here provide an opportunity for the city to expand cultural exchange, boost investment, trade, and tourism promotion. They serve as a new impetus for the development of the capital city into a "Cultural, Civilized, and Modern" place. |
When completed and put into operation, the National Exhibition and Convention Center will be a symbol of new development, contributing to making Hanoi a "world exhibition capital". |
