Bi Rain and the film crew "Brilliant Night" received awards at the ASEAN International Film Festival

On the evening of August 4, the Gala and Awards Ceremony of the Opening Ceremony of the ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards (AIFFA) 2023 took place on Kuching Island, Sarawak, Malaysia.

In the end, actress Kim B in the movie "Brilliant Night" directed by Aron Toronto received the award for Best Supporting Actress.

The most important award of this year's ASEAN International Film Festival, the Best Film award, went to a Malaysian representative - the film "Barbarian Invasion" by female director Chui Mun Tan.

Previously, "Barbarina Invasion" won the Grand Jury Prize at the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival.

The ASEAN International Film Festival also presented the ASEAN Inspiration Award to international film and music star Bi Rain.

The ASEAN International Film Festival opened on August 2. During the three-day event, audiences can watch the films that have entered the official competition round for free.

Two representatives of Vietnamese cinema received four nominations. Of these, the film "Memento Mori: Land" by director Marcus Manh Cuong Vu received two nominations for the categories of Best Actress (Nguyen Hai Yen - Red) and Best Picture (Tran Ngoc Khuyen).

The film "Brilliant Dark Night" by director Aaron Toronto also received two nominations for the categories: Best Screenplay (Nha Uyen, Aaron Toronto) and Best Supporting Actress (Kim B).

6. Best Supporting Actor: Hasnul Rahmat - movie "Jerangkung dalam almari" - Malaysia

7. Best Actor: Datuk Tamimi Siregar - "Perjalanan pertama" - Malaysia and Indonesia

8. Best Director: Carlo Obispo - "The Baseball Player" - Philippines

9. Best Film: "Barbarian Invasion" - Malaysia
