On the afternoon of December 8, the match between Malaysia and Myanmar took place in the second round of Group B women's football at the 33rd SEA Games.
As predicted by experts, Myanmar proactively pushed their squad to attack right after the opening whistle with the goal of preemptively attacking their opponents.

The Malaysian women's team (yellow and black shirts) had a hard-fought match against Myanmar.
In the 4th minute, Myanmar almost found the opening goal but luckily the Malaysian goalkeeper rushed out to catch the ball before Khin Marlar Tun could finish.
In the following minutes, the players in black and yellow shirts could only huddle together to defend against Myanmar's pressure.
Despite playing with a large number of players at home, that was not enough to help Malaysia keep a clean sheet against the opponents' wave-like attacks.
In the 27th minute, receiving an accurate cross from his teammate on the left wing, San Thaw Thaw controlled the ball neatly before finishing to open the score of the match.
With the lead, Myanmar seemed to have released the psychological pressure and played more freely. In the 35th minute, from a central situation, May Htet Lu escaped and fired a dangerous shot into the top corner, raising the score to 2-0.
Conceding two goals in a row, Malaysia fought back and created several opportunities but could not take advantage.
After the break, Malaysia tried to push their formation up to attack to find a goal to reduce the gap. But while they were still struggling to find a way into the opponent's goal, the black and yellow team had to play with one less man when Adrienna received a red card.
Taking advantage of having one more player, Myanmar pressed the field and scored another goal thanks to Win Theingi Tun in the 63rd minute.
In the end, the Myanmar women's team won 3-0 against Malaysia to temporarily take first place in Group B with 6 points.
