On April 4th, at the Party Central Headquarters, the Politburo reviewed and imposed disciplinary measures on Party members who had committed violations and shortcomings.
After considering the proposal of the Central Disciplinary Committee, the Politburo found that:
During his tenure as a member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Standing Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh violated Party regulations and State laws in the performance of his assigned duties and responsibilities, in the fight against corruption and negative practices; he also violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing very serious consequences, negative public opinion, and affecting the prestige of the Party and the State.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, while serving as Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, violated Party regulations and State laws in the performance of his assigned duties and responsibilities, in the fight against corruption, waste, and negative practices; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing serious consequences, negative public opinion, and diminishing the prestige of the Party organization and local government.
Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations; in accordance with the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Politburo decided to issue a warning to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu and remove him from his positions, and proposed that the Central Committee consider removing him from his position as an alternate member of the 13th Central Committee; and proposed that the Central Committee consider disciplining Mr. Truong Hoa Binh.
We request that the relevant authorities promptly implement administrative disciplinary measures in a manner consistent with Party discipline.
Earlier that morning, the Central Disciplinary Committee issued a communiqué regarding its 55th session, which took place from March 31 to April 3.
At this meeting, the Central Disciplinary Committee continued to review the results of the investigation into suspected violations and the results of the self-criticism process, proposing that the competent authorities consider and impose disciplinary measures on Mr. Truong Hoa Binh, former member of the Politburo and former Standing Deputy Prime Minister.
Considering the results of the investigation into alleged violations and the results of the review, the Central Inspection Committee proposes disciplinary action against the following individuals: Nguyen Van Hieu, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Tran Viet Truong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Manh Dung, former Acting Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee; Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province. The Central Inspection Committee found that Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, during his time as Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, and Mr. Tran Viet Truong, during his time as Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities, and in the fight against corruption and negative practices. Violating regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing serious consequences, diminishing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the extent that disciplinary action must be taken.
During his tenure as Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Mr. Nguyen Manh Dung violated Party regulations and State laws in the performance of his assigned duties and responsibilities, in the fight against corruption and negative practices; he violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing serious consequences, diminishing the prestige of the Party organization and the agency/unit where he worked, to the extent that disciplinary action had to be taken.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned duties and responsibilities, in the fight against corruption and negative practices; he violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, causing serious consequences, diminishing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the extent that disciplinary action must be taken.
Considering the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations; based on Party regulations, the Central Disciplinary Committee decided to issue a warning to Mr. Nguyen Manh Dung, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, and Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, and proposed that the competent authority consider and impose disciplinary action against Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu.
The Central Inspection Committee requested the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Government and the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee to direct, consider, and handle other related organizations and individuals.
Also at this session, the Central Inspection Committee considered and concluded on several other important matters.
