Ministry of Industry and Trade implements the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations

Accordingly, the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations No. 70/2025/QH15 (hereinafter referred to as the Law) was passed by the 15th National Assembly at its 9th session on June 14, 2025, and will take effect from January 1, 2026. To ensure timely, unified, and effective implementation, the Minister issues the Plan for implementing the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations within the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the following contents:

Regarding requirements, the decision clearly states that the work content must be associated with the responsibilities and roles of the assigned unit in coordination with ministries, branches, localities and relevant agencies and organizations in implementing the Law.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade requests a review of legal documents, according to the decision, to review legal documents related to the Law and documents guiding the Law under the state management authority of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Determine a specific roadmap to ensure that the Law and its detailed implementing documents are implemented consistently and synchronously. Regularly inspect, urge, guide, and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of organizing and implementing the Law.

Regarding the review of legal documents, according to the decision, the review will cover legal documents related to the Law and its guiding documents under the state management authority of the Ministry of Industry and Trade; and, within its authority, or by recommending to competent authorities, promptly amend, supplement, replace, repeal, or issue new legal documents to ensure compliance with the Law. The scope of the review includes all issued legal documents (including Vietnamese National Technical Regulations).

Regarding the drafting of the Circular stipulating the activities of developing and applying national standards and national technical regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the decision clearly states that the Circular stipulating the activities of developing and applying national standards and national technical regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade will be drafted (replacing Circular No. 46/2014/TT-BCT dated December 3, 2014 of the Minister of Industry and Trade).
