The Ministry of Education and Training is expected to announce the difference in scores of five traditional university entrance exam combinations on July 21.

This is also the time when the Ministry of Education and Training announces the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission (also known as the cutoff score) for teacher training and health science majors.
This information was shared by Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), at the 2025 University Admissions Application Fair held on July 19th at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with Tuoi Tre Newspaper. Approximately 10,000 students and parents attended the event.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Thao, unlike previous years, this year the admission scores will be converted between different subject combinations and methods to ensure fairness for candidates. A single major may be considered for admission using multiple subject combinations, and the difference in scores between these combinations will be adjusted according to percentiles.
The Ministry will announce the percentiles of the 5 traditional subject combinations: A00 (mathematics, physics, chemistry), A01 (mathematics, physics, English), B00 (mathematics, chemistry, biology), C00 (literature, history, geography), and D01 (mathematics, literature, English) on July 21st, at the same time as announcing the minimum quality assurance thresholds for admission to teacher training and health science fields.
This serves as a basis for candidates in the process of choosing their admission preferences, and also helps schools to refer to when building conversion tables for cutoff scores between different methods and subject combinations.
At the University Admissions Information Day, candidates and parents have the opportunity to directly ask questions and receive answers from a panel of advisors including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of National Defense, and representatives from several major universities and colleges.

In addition, candidates and parents can also find information about admissions at approximately 160 booths from various educational institutions. Candidates can meet admissions representatives from the schools they are interested in, and learn about training programs, learning environments, career orientation, study abroad opportunities, and international joint programs, etc.
In reality, many candidates are still hesitant when choosing their preferences and prioritizing their choices for majors and universities. Candidates will have a period of time to research and gather information before officially registering their preferences on the Ministry of Education and Training's admissions system (http://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn) until 5 PM on July 28th.
The advisory board notes that before registering for admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's common system, candidates should carefully research the admission plans of each school to choose their major and school, understand the subject combinations for admission, and then register their preferences accordingly, increasing their chances of admission.
After July 28th, candidates will no longer be able to change their registered preferences.
From 5 PM on July 23rd, educational institutions will announce the minimum application scores and equivalent admission scores on their systems and websites.
The list of successful candidates in the first round will be announced from 5 PM on August 22nd. Candidates must confirm their enrollment online through the system from 5 PM on August 30th.
