Coast Guard Region 3 Command: Meeting with press agencies in early 2024

On January 9th, in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 held a meeting with press agencies at the beginning of 2024. Comrade Tran Minh Nam, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Propaganda Department, attended the conference.

In 2023, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 successfully completed its assigned tasks. The unit proactively coordinated closely with media agencies in the area, effectively implementing propaganda activities. This contributed to raising awareness and responsibility among officers and soldiers in the unit, as well as cadres, Party members, and the general public regarding the country's seas and islands.

In 2024, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 continued to coordinate with the propaganda departments of city and provincial Party committees, and press agencies in the areas where it is stationed to further promote the dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations on security and order management, socio-economic development associated with ensuring national defense, security, and military diplomacy . It also aimed to improve the quality and effectiveness of disseminating the Party's and State's guidelines and legal documents on the sea and islands; the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea; the 2012 Vietnamese Law on the Sea; the 2018 Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard; activities to protect sovereignty, security, order, and safety of the sea and islands; activities to combat various types of crimes and violations of the law; search and rescue operations; and disaster relief efforts. Training activities, combat readiness, building a regular and disciplined system, and other aspects of support work. In particular, raising awareness among Vietnamese fishermen about not violating foreign waters by engaging in illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Effectively implementing the public relations program "Coast Guard accompanying fishermen," "Coast Guard with ethnic and religious communities"; the "I love my homeland's sea and islands" competition in localities; and activities celebrating Tet (Lunar New Year) 2024, linked with the peak period of combating and suppressing maritime crimes before, during, and after the Tet holiday.

At the conference, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 signed a cooperation program on maritime and island propaganda with 16 media agencies, including Ninh Thuan Newspaper. The awards for 2023 were also announced.
