An eel weighing nearly 16 kg was caught on a hook in the Tra Khuc River.

On the afternoon of November 29th, Mr. Ngo Van Lam (65 years old, residing in Truong Quang Trong Ward), Mr. Phuc's older brother, went fishing for eels along the Tra Khuc River.

On the morning of November 30th, while checking his fishing line in the section of the river belonging to Nghia Dong commune (Quang Ngai city), Mr. Lam was surprised to discover a "giant" eel caught on his hook.

At this point, Mr. Lam pulled the fish onto the boat and brought it ashore. Then, he put the eel into a Styrofoam container, filled it with water, and added oxygen to keep it alive.

Eels are freshwater fish with smooth skin, long, round bodies. They typically live in caves and crevices where water flows. Eel meat is firm, flavorful, and highly nutritious, making it a popular dish. On the Tra Khuc River, locals occasionally catch eels weighing around 6-8 kg.
