With programs that closely follow and accurately reflect the economic and social development situation, good models, effective methods, and exemplary individuals, the grassroots information system in Mo Duc commune (Quang Ngai) plays a crucial role in achieving the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in the area.
Nguyen Van Trong, Director of the Mo Duc Commune Public Service Center, shared that the public address system helps people easily access information about the Party and State's poverty reduction policies. At the same time, it enhances their knowledge and skills in production and economic development, and allows them to learn best practices and effective poverty reduction models.
Improving the capacity of staff working in poverty reduction
"Currently, there are 88 wireless public address systems in the commune. We are conducting a trial run of a smart public address system in the central area of four communes: Duc Tan, Duc Phu, Duc Hoa, and the former Mo Duc town , to broadcast specific information to each area that needs to receive that information. "
"We will create news articles, radio programs, and in-depth features introducing sustainable economic development models... Thereby inspiring the will and determination to overcome poverty, creating consensus in the process of implementing the local poverty reduction program," Mr. Trong said.
People have actively participated in models and projects supporting production development, providing technical guidance, knowledge, experience in labor and production, and support methods.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lieu, from Hamlet 4, Mo Duc Commune, shared: “My family is in difficult circumstances. When I heard about the support for receiving cows, I prepared feed and renovated the barn to make it more sturdy. Local officials regularly share useful information, and I will take good care of the cows so they can thrive and bring in income.”
In fact, through the implementation of communication work on poverty reduction, the majority of people in Mo Duc commune have accessed useful information that can be applied in practice. Many households have abandoned the mindset of waiting and relying on others, and have consciously strived to escape poverty; contributing to the successful achievement of the commune's sustainable poverty reduction goals.
Local poverty reduction officials should be close to the grassroots, understand the situation of poor and near-poor households in the commune, and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people. They should coordinate closely with relevant agencies, units, and socio-political organizations in the locality to find solutions to help people raise their awareness.
Officials also proposed appropriate solutions and models to create conditions for people to develop their economy, improve their living standards, and rise out of poverty sustainably.
“Through training courses, I have improved my knowledge and skills in disseminating and guiding people on the Party and State's policies on poverty reduction. I have a clearer understanding of the process and methods for reviewing and classifying poor and near-poor households in the locality…,” said Mr. Ngo Phu Ran, Head of the Veterans Association branch in Phuoc An village, Mo Duc commune.
Implementing Sub-project 1 on Information Poverty Reduction of Project 6 under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Mo Duc commune has actively implemented many solutions and innovated communication methods to help people access useful information, change their perceptions, and proactively strive to escape poverty.
Mo Duc commune has implemented a comprehensive range of propaganda methods, including the local public address system, distributing leaflets, hanging banners and posters, organizing consultation meetings, and direct communication.
At the same time, organize training courses and professional development programs, and integrate poverty reduction content into community meetings and village meetings. In addition, utilize social media and village Zalo groups to share information about new policies, successful models, and effective practices.
