According to the organizers, the Mang Den Ultra Trail 2026 has been recognized by UTMB as meeting the UTMB Index standards.
Accordingly, athletes who complete the 25km, 50km, 70km, and 100km distances will accumulate points to be considered for participation in races within the global UTMB system.
Achieving this standard is considered a major step forward, raising the quality of the tournament and expanding opportunities for the Vietnamese trail running community to access international competitions.

One of the distinctive features of the Mang Den Ultra Trail is that the trail construction was undertaken by the local people themselves.
Thanks to their understanding of the terrain and culture of Mang Den, they have created routes that are both safe and challenging, while preserving the pristine beauty of the highlands.
In 2026, the organizers reviewed the entire route, incorporating feedback from runners in previous seasons and adding more checkpoints, signage, and nature experiences.

Speaking to Van Hoa (Culture) magazine , Mr. Bui Viet, Chairman of the Mang Den Tourism Association and Head of the Organizing Committee of the race, said: “Mang Den Ultra Trail is not just a sporting event, but also a way for us to tell the story of the land and people of Mang Den.”
We want runners who come here to experience the freshness of nature, the hospitality of the community, and the unspoiled beauty that cannot be found anywhere else.”

Mr. Ha added that the tournament's achievement of UTMB Index standards is a driving force for Mang Den to affirm its brand on the Vietnamese tourism and sports map.
“The UTMB Index standard is a recognition of the collective effort. But more importantly, we hope that each athlete, after completing the race, will carry with them a beautiful memory of Mang Den, so that the image of this place will spread even wider.”
The race is organized by the Mang Den Tourism Association, in collaboration with PR Events - a company with extensive experience in organizing trail running events.
Safety, medical services, logistics, forest rescue, and communications will be enhanced in Season 2, ensuring a polished, professional, and inspiring tournament.
