According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, addressing housing issues for the people has always been a priority for the Party and the State, and is considered a key task in social welfare and sustainable poverty reduction. However, to date, there are still 4,400 households in the province facing housing difficulties.

Specifically, 3,463 new houses will be built and 937 houses will be renovated (including those belonging to people with meritorious service to the revolution, relatives of martyrs; poor and near-poor households; and households under the national target program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority areas in the province) who need support to improve their housing and ensure safety.

At the same time, it helps people to stabilize their lives, work and produce with peace of mind, develop the economy step by step to escape poverty, and contribute to achieving the goal of poverty reduction and ensuring social security.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to take the lead and coordinate with relevant units and localities to specifically review the beneficiaries (people with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs; poor households, near-poor households; households under the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in the province) who are eligible for housing support, whether they already have a house, do not have one, or have built a sanitary toilet system themselves, or have received support from other programs for a sanitary toilet system.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested the People's Committees of the districts and Ca Mau city to thoroughly understand the motto "Party leadership, State management, Fatherland Front and mass organizations support, and the people are masters"; to demonstrate high determination, great effort, decisive action, focus on key areas, complete each task thoroughly, and clearly assign responsibilities to individuals, tasks, timelines, and expected results.

According to the plan, Ca Mau province expects to complete the target ahead of schedule, aiming to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province by 2025.

The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs monitors, urges, and directs agencies and units under its management to implement the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, ensuring that the target beneficiaries, standards, and quotas are met, avoiding duplication between programs and other support activities from the State budget, adhering to the procedures and regulations as prescribed by law, and preventing loss, waste, and corruption.

According to data on the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses, Ca Mau province built 3,463 new houses and repaired 937 houses. For households of people who rendered meritorious services to the revolution, 578 new houses were built and 579 houses were repaired.

Poor households received 1,206 new houses built and 116 houses renovated. Near-poor households received 1,324 new houses built and 242 houses renovated. Households participating in the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in the province received 355 houses.

The support level is 60 million VND per house for new construction and 30 million VND per house for repairs. The total capital for implementation is 235.89 billion VND.
