Many outstanding results in socio-economic development in 2025
The conference was held to review the leadership, direction, and management of socio-economic development and the construction of the province's political system in 2025, and to discuss and comment on draft documents of the Provincial Party Committee and the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province. This was also an opportunity to propose resolutions on directions and tasks for 2026 and a work program for the first 6 months of 2026.
According to the report at the conference, in 2025, the socio-economic situation of Ca Mau province achieved many important results. The economic growth rate is estimated at 8%, some main targets achieved quite well compared to the plan and increased compared to the same period. Cultural fields continued to make progress; social security policies were effectively implemented; jobs and livelihoods for people were given attention. National defense and security remained stable; the fight against corruption, waste and negativity was directed to be implemented resolutely and persistently.
Ca Mau also recorded positive changes in Party building and the political system. The two-level local government apparatus operates smoothly; the administration is increasingly streamlined, operating effectively, efficiently and effectively. The conference reviewed reports on the 2025 year-end summary, the socio-economic development situation and directions and tasks for 2026.
During the discussion, delegates focused on key tasks such as accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital in 2025; removing obstacles in the process of upgrading and expanding Ca Mau Airport, Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway, the transportation system to the island and Hon Khoai Dual-Use Port. The province also considered the 8% growth plan in 2025 and the growth target of 10% or more in 2026.
In addition, many social issues were analyzed such as solutions to improve the quality of primary health care and primary education; combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; protect and sustainably develop aquatic resources; promote growth in the agricultural and fishery sectors. Delegates also discussed issues related to the task of increasing tourism growth in 2026, taking care of people during Tet, resolving petitions and handling outstanding and long-standing cases.

The conference voted to approve the targets of the Resolution on building directions and tasks for 2026 and approved the Resolution of the 3rd Conference of the Provincial Party Executive Committee. Accordingly, in 2026, the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee set out 22 targets and 8 key tasks, aiming to build a clean and strong political system; promote the spirit of solidarity and unanimity; and be determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
In 2026, Ca Mau will focus on renewing the growth model, in which science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are considered the main driving forces. The province will focus on developing enterprises, effectively exploiting local potential and advantages; focusing on investing in building socio-economic infrastructure. At the same time, Ca Mau will continue to improve the quality of culture, health care and education; prioritize ensuring social security and improving people's lives.
The management and effective use of resources and environmental protection are considered pillars, linked with green growth and sustainable development; proactively preventing natural disasters and responding to climate change. Administrative reform is promoted and administrative discipline and order are further tightened. The province is also determined to fight against corruption, waste and negativity; ensure national defense and security and improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs.
The conference spent a lot of time discussing issues that require the synchronous participation of the political system, such as implementing the resolutions of the Central Committee and Party Congresses at all levels; preparing for the election of People's Council delegates at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; taking care of poor households, near-poor households and disadvantaged families. These are all tasks that have a direct impact on people's lives and the long-term development orientation of the province.
In his closing speech at the conference, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized the special importance of 2026. This is the year of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. At the same time, it is also the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2026-2030, with the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai requested Party committees at all levels, Party organizations, sectors and localities to promote the results achieved in 2025, while thoroughly overcoming the remaining limitations and weaknesses. He requested determination, efficiency and substance in implementing the targets and tasks that the conference had thoroughly discussed and agreed upon in the Resolution on directions and tasks for 2026 and the Work Program for the first 6 months of 2026.
The head of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee emphasized the need to "promote solidarity and unanimity", ensure smooth coordination between all levels and sectors; focus on implementing tasks on schedule, closely following the goals to contribute to the successful completion of socio-economic development targets in 2026. This is also the year that marks the beginning of a new phase of action, requiring high unity and strong determination throughout the political system.
