On the afternoon of March 12, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long led a working group to inspect the progress of construction on two expressway projects: Van Phong - Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot (component project 1).

The Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project commenced in early 2023, with Project Management Board 7 - Ministry of Construction as the investor, and was initially expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The project is over 83 km long, passing through Ninh Hoa town and three districts: Van Ninh, Dien Khanh, and Khanh Vinh.
To date, the project has completed over 70km of construction. The project's construction output has reached over 91%, exceeding the contract schedule by approximately 11%. Project Management Board 7 is aggressively directing contractors to accelerate the construction progress of the remaining nearly 13km at the beginning of the route, striving to complete the project by April 30th, 8 months ahead of schedule as directed by the Prime Minister.

Component Project 1 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway is approximately 31.5km long, passing through 8 communes and wards of Ninh Hoa town. It is managed by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Agriculture and Transportation Projects, with a total investment of over 5,333 billion VND. The project is divided into 3 construction packages: Package 1 is implemented by Son Hai Group Co., Ltd.; Package 2 by the Phuong Nam - Bac Trung Nam - 168 Vietnam Joint Venture; and Package 3 by Truong Son Construction Corporation.
To date, the Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee has handed over 28.69km/31.5km (91.1%) of the land for actual construction on-site, covering an area of 210ha/228.17ha (92%). Currently, the project still faces land acquisition issues in 16 sections, including 12 sections passing through areas with houses requiring resettlement and 4 sections passing through areas not designated for resettlement.
Mr. Dang Huu Tai, Director of the Project Management Board for the construction of agricultural and transportation projects in Khanh Hoa province, said that the construction units are striving to complete the first 20km of the route by the end of this year as directed by the Prime Minister; the remaining section will be completed in 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long commended the efforts of the local authorities, investors, and contractors in land clearance and construction, especially for the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway project. However, for the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project, many areas still lack land handover, and construction output remains low, failing to meet the planned schedule.
The Deputy Prime Minister urged local authorities, investors, and contractors to be more decisive and make greater efforts to meet the completion deadline for the 3,000km of expressways this year.
