Parents bring their children to the opening ceremony of the new school year in Dat Mui commune.

From early morning, ferries from hamlets far from the school were able to take students to school for the opening ceremony. This year's ceremony was broadcast live on VTV1 and connected online from the National Convention Center ( Hanoi ) to educational institutions across the country. It was noted that at Dat Mui Primary School 1, students were all cheerful, eager, and full of emotions.

The joyful and exciting atmosphere of the opening ceremony of the new school year at Dat Mui Primary School 1, Dat Mui commune.

Dat Mui Primary School 1 is located just a few hundred meters from the coast of Ca Mau Cape, and currently has nearly 800 students. Because many areas do not have roads, many students still have to go to school by water. On the first day of school, the students' faces were radiant with smiles when they met their teachers and friends again.

Mr. Nguyen Van Teo, Cai Xep hamlet, Dat Mui commune, had to wake up at 4:30 am to prepare to take his two children to school by boat, although his house was only about 8 km away. Not only his children but also other students in this area had to go to school by boat. To provide for his children's education, Mr. Teo has had to work hard for many years and carry with him the hope that his children will have a better future. Mr. Teo shared more: "My house is in Xeo Doi canal, I leave my house at 5:20 am, then pick up the students from there to school. I mainly take my children to school and pick up 4 other students to earn fuel money, to help cover the cost of sending my children to school."

Comrade Ly Chi Kiet, Deputy Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of Ca Mau Provincial People's Council, presented gifts to students of Dat Mui Primary School 1.

Mr. Doan Van Tiep, Principal of Dat Mui Primary School 1, said that currently, about 100 students of the school have to go to class by boat. The reason is due to the characteristics of the coastal area, where people live scattered along the canals, mainly making a living from fishing and aquaculture. Many families live in areas where there are no roads, so their children have to go to school by boat. Some children are picked up and dropped off by contract, while others are taken directly by their families.

Comrade Kieu Minh Tieng, Party Secretary, Chairman of Dat Mui Commune People's Council, presented bicycles to students in difficult circumstances.

Dat Mui Commune has 7 schools, with more than 3,300 students. Although the economic conditions of the commune are still difficult, the opening ceremonies at the schools are always solemn and cozy.

At the ceremony, many units presented hundreds of scholarships, gifts, notebooks, bicycles and school supplies to poor students who overcame difficulties and studied well in Dat Mui commune, with a total value of nearly 100 million VND.
