In her opening speech, Ms. To Thi My Thuan, Vice President of the Women's Union of Ca Mau province, emphasized the important role of capacity building for staff working on gender equality, contributing to the effective implementation of Project 8 in the new period. At the same time, Ms. Thuan also hoped that after the training course, the delegates would apply their knowledge and skills well into their work practices, helping women and children, especially those in ethnic minority areas, to have more complete access to the State's support policies and services.

Ms. To Thi My Thuan, Vice President of the Women's Union of Ca Mau province, delivered the opening speech of the training course, asking delegates to seriously acquire knowledge to effectively implement Project 8 at the grassroots level.

The training course was attended by Women's Union officials of communes and wards and members of the community communication team, the "Trusted Address" team of 12 localities implementing Project 8 including the communes: Khanh Hung, Tran Van Thoi, Khanh Binh, Tan Loc, Ho Thi Ky, Tan Thuan, Dat Moi, Dat Mui, U Minh, Luong The Tran, Da Bac and An Xuyen ward.

The training class had more than 40 delegates who were Women's Union officials of communes, wards and members of community communication teams and trusted address teams.

During the two days (December 8-9), delegates were updated on new legal documents and policies related to the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas; learned about the key contents of Project 8; basic knowledge on gender, gender equality and gender mainstreaming in policy implementation. In addition, delegates were equipped with skills to analyze and identify urgent issues of women and children; skills to promote gender equality; knowledge on nutritional care for mothers, children and men; as well as knowledge on preventing and combating domestic violence.

Delegates actively participated in discussions, interactions and answered questions during the training.

In addition to the theoretical part, delegates actively participated in group discussions, handled situations, shared experiences and resolved difficulties in the process of implementing gender equality work at the grassroots level.

Through the training course, the staff was strengthened with core knowledge on gender equality, contributing to the effective implementation of the goals of Project 8, while improving the quality of support for women and children in the province.
