TPO - To clear the parking lots on the road and sidewalks, more than 10 years ago, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned relevant units to build an underground parking lot in Thong Nhat Park. But until now, the parking lot is still an unfinished construction project, cars are still parked everywhere on the sidewalks and roads.

Handed over from the previous hotel construction project to be used as an underground parking lot, but now after 15 years of implementation, the underground parking lot in Thong Nhat Park is an abandoned lot.

The project is designed with a capacity of more than 300 parking spaces, with an investment of more than 100 billion VND (photo above). However, to date, the project is still not completed, with some construction items unfinished.

The parking lot has a total area of ​​about 10,000 square meters, cut from park land and is considered prime land in the inner city area, but has been fenced off and abandoned for more than 10 years.

Due to the long-standing vacant land, recently some individuals have set up temporary sheds as illegal parking lots and charged high prices. After Tien Phong newspaper reported the illegal parking lots were cleared.

While land for parking lots in parks is being covered up, outside Le Duan Street and some neighboring streets, sidewalks and roadsides are being turned into parking lots.
