(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The education sector in Quang Nam province has warned about the situation where some students are buying KumanThong dolls online to worship at home, and buying cakes and candies to "feed" the dolls in order to pray for good luck and academic success.

On December 26th, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province sent a document to the Education and Training Departments of districts, towns, and cities, as well as the principals of schools, requesting their cooperation in ensuring security in educational institutions.

According to information from the Quang Nam Provincial Department of Education and Training, the provincial police have discovered that some students in the area are buying KumanThong dolls online for worship, hoping for good luck and academic success. They also buy cakes, candies, milk, and soft drinks to "feed" the dolls.

Many individuals have exploited the naivety, gullibility, and curiosity of students to lure and entice them into believing in and buying these dolls. The police warn that this is a dangerous superstitious activity that causes confusion and fear, negatively impacting students, families, and society.

To ensure security and order, the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department requests the Department of Education and Training to direct specialized units and educational institutions to strengthen propaganda and education to raise awareness among students. Units need to prevent the exploitation of propaganda and the enticement to participate in activities that violate the law, especially superstition and illegal religious activities.

If any related incidents are discovered, the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department requests that local Education and Training Departments and school principals promptly communicate and take appropriate action.

It is known that KumanThong dolls are a form of superstition originating from Thailand, rumored to possess many supernatural spiritual powers, bringing good luck and fortune to their owners, and have spread to Vietnam.
